MINISTER HECKLED AT JEWISH VIGIL

An organiser appeals for calm as Labour's Ashley Dalton is heckled

A vigil held in central London in the aftermath of the Bondi Beach massacre was addressed by hapless Labour junior minister Ashley Dalton on Monday evening.  Dalton was asked to step in when senior minister Steve Reed appeared to flunk out of his scheduled appearance, instead opting to attend a meeting of Jewish Labour.  Given the angry reception dealt out to Dalton, it's not difficult to see why Reed chickened out in favour of the much cosier indoor and in-house Labour event.

Reed's failure to attend only added to the anger felt by the Jewish community gathered in Parliament Square and the heckling of Dalton began just seconds after she began to speak.  As Dalton struggled to speak over the insults, organisers repeatedly interjected and appealed for calm, further disrupting her flow.

A Rabbi's appeal for the crowd to show Dalton 'respect' brought calm for a few moments, before the shouting resumed.  "Read the room", "Ban the marches", "Go away", "Liar", "Shame on you", "Rubbish" and "We are being killed" were all audible during her short speech.  The longest video clip, which begins moments after Dalton begins can be seen below.  Not all the heckles can be heard in this clip, but various other angles can be seen here, here and here.

Dalton was previously most notable for her trans advocacy, in particular her call for the abolition of gendered bathrooms and a spat on X in which she declared that even people who identified as llamas deserve 'dignity and respect'.  Labour had repeatedly tried to get her elected to the Commons since 2017, when she fought the Rochford and Southend East constituency.  She fought the same seat two years later, before finally joining the Westminster gravy train through the West Lancashire by-election of 2023.

MEME MONDAY #25

Quite possible a record breaking week for memes, Karl was on fire last week.  There were also a couple of possible firsts.  The star meme, which went viral on both X and Facebook, was reissued with design tweaks two days later to account for the disgraceful release of MP Mike Amesbury.  The following day Karl republished a meme because he spotted a small typo in it!  He's a perfectionist...

Wed 26 Feb - 162 shares

Thurs 27 Feb - 1,004 shares.  The tweaking and reissue of this meme after just
two days marked a very sad, angry and frustrating day as Amesbury's release
served up another prime example of Two Tier Britain.
Fri 28 Feb - 215 shares.  This meme replaced the original after Karl
spotted a typo.  The number of shares is for both versions combined.
Fri 28 Feb - 349 shares
Sat 1 Mar - 29 shares
Sat 1 Mar - 994 shares
Sun 2 Mar - 1,383 shares.  The response to this meme was interesting, in
that it confirmed we still have a few warmonger media lemmings following
the page.  Some of them threatened to unfollow after this meme.  Bye then!

ANDERSON MOCKS LLAMA LOSER

Lee Anderson, Ashley Dalton and... a llama

Reform's Lee Anderson had the perfect response to news of Andrew Gwynne's replacement as public health minister.  In the Commons on Tuesday, Anderson took the Health Secretary to task over freshly unearthed comments by Ashley Dalton.  It turns out that Dalton, who looks like she is fresh off a parade of Alphabet People, was an early proponent of trans nonsense.  In 2016 she was asked if people could identify as llamas and she responded: "Yes, and treat them with respect and dignity".  She also called for the abolition of gendered bathrooms, despite the very obvious threats to women that such an act would generate.

Anderson rose in the Commons to ask Ms Dalton's new boss: "What I want to know is if I have a family member, who presents as a llama, suddenly becomes ill in the middle of the night, do they send for a doctor, a vet or a straitjacket?"  The chamber erupted in laughter, while Streeting struggled to muster one of his clever ripostes.

This was Anderson at his straight-talking best, watch the clip below.

Starmer must be running out of sane backbenchers to fill these roles now, but the truth is that his party were more than willing to get this lunatic into the Commons for many years.  She was the candidate for Rochford and Southend East in both the 2017 and 2019 general elections, finishing the runner-up on both occasions.  In 2023 she was chosen to succeed Rosie Cooper in the West Lancashire by-election, holding comfortably and then increasing her majority in the 2024 general election.
