MEME MONDAY #76

The scourge of Islamism remained at the forefront of last week's array of memes.  We may as well pump them out before we are locked up for 'Islamophobia'...

Mon 23 Mar - 216 shares.  One week on there have been no charges in relation to
the Golders Green arson.  A little odd for such a high profile incident
Mon 23 Mar - 123 shares.  Velleman is also involved in Marxist group
Hope Not Hate, which gets most of its funding from trade unions and has
close ties to the Labour party.  Interesting to note that despite Netanyahu's
wars currently raging across the Middle East, Velleman's parents somehow
managed to fly in from Israel for the sentencing
Mon 23 Mar.  The algorithm didn't like this emoji poll and
distribution was limited.  Of the few who responded, 93 opted
for the angry emoji against 31 deluded souls for the teary emoji
Tue 24 Mar - 1 share
Tue 24 Mar - 76 shares
Thu 26 Mar - 9 shares.  One wonders whether the wee man is angling for a spot
on the Westminster gravy train through his new best pal Zack
Thu 26 Mar - 225 shares
Fri 27 Mar - 358 shares.  Best comment hands down - "I thought
that was the FA Cup for a second"
Sat 28 Mar - 166 shares
Sat 28 Mar - 249 shares.  Rayner remains the front runner in betting markets to
succeed Starmer, although the Labour leadership process takes so long that it
could be the autumn before Starmer's successor is confirmed (assuming he
resigns in May, as expected)
Sat 28 Mar - 92 shares.  The Met always downplay attendances, but the
comparison between their estimates in terms of Saturday's clown show against
Yaxley-Lennon's 'Unite the Kingdom' are damning for the left.  As has been shown
by their lacklustre counter-protests in recent years, the left can no longer
mobilise the numbers they once did
Sun 29 Mar - 77 shares.  Some questioned the accuracy of this meme,
but Karl did his research.  Western Europe is changing alarmingly fast and
burying one's head in the sand helps no-one but the colonists

Five Facebook Stories were published last week, including another alternative design for the 'Diversity Is Strength' series.  Karl feels that the Pepe Clown World design is not quite appropriate for some of the worse crimes.

REFORM SURPRISE FOR BASTANI

The dullest man on the left was in the Tory stronghold of Chichester this week for his communist media outlet Novara Media.  Aaron Bastani was voxpopping residents in the Sussex town and asking them various questions about the looming election.  After speaking to various older residents who voiced a variety of opinions, Bastani appears to be dumbfounded when he speaks to some younger people who all give Reform UK the thumbs up.

Two lads who appear to be unknown to each other both express support for Reform.  One of them vents about getting 'rid of Rishi Sunak', while the other lad - who is mixed race - refers to the PM as 'a mug'.  Bastani is particularly intrigued by the latter, given his racial background (the left, as ever, fascinated by race).  He says that Reform would give 'actual English citizens a voice in what happens in this country'.  Bastani then speaks to two young girls, one of which says 'everyone around [Chichester] is very into it [Reform UK]'.  She puts the apparent fervour down to TikTok videos, which have featured teens from other areas talking up Reform.

Watch the clip below.

In the full 22 minute video on YouTube, Bastani uncovers support for the Lib Dems, Tories and Reform UK - not so much for Labour in this seat.  A Scottish couple who said they had always voted Conservative, said they were both thinking about voting for Reform.  Another lifelong Tory said he was so fed up that he was not going to bother voting at all.  An old lefty expressed delusion with our entire system of democracy and said he wasn't voting either.

During the remainder of the campaign we'll be lending our predictions for various seats and where better to begin than Chichester itself...

The constituency is so old that it predates the creation of both Great Britain and the United Kingdom by several hundred years, having first been established in 1295.  The Conservatives have held the seat for the entire 20th and 21st centuries, aside from 1923 when it was briefly gained by the Liberals, but held for just ten months.  Prior to that the seat had been represented by a Conservative MP since 1837.

It's an impressive record and Gillian Keegan goes into this election defending a 21,490 majority.  The Tory majority has decreased over the last two elections, from a peak in 2015 of 24,413.  We expect it to crumble at this forthcoming election and the seat will change hands.  The Lib Dems, who pushed Labour into third in 2019, appear to be the main challengers.  Reform are starting from scratch, having not fielded a candidate here previously.

There are six candidates in Chichester this time around, as follows.

Jess Brown-Fuller (LDem)
Tom Collinge (Lab)
Teresa De Santis (Ref UK)
Andrew Emerson (Ind)
Gillian Keegan (Con)
Tim Young (Grn)

NOVARA'S CENSORSHIP HYPOCRISY

Marxist media outlet Novara Media had its YouTube channel temporarily deleted on Tuesday.  A statement put out by Novara at 11:40 said the action had been carried out by YouTube without 'warning or explanation'.  Less than three hours later Novara reported that the channel had been reinstated 'following a deluge of support from across the political spectrum'.

Novara's Michael Walker

Novara has an impressive following on YouTube with almost 170,000 subscribers.  It has a similar number of followers on its Twitter account, with smaller followings on Facebook and Instagram.  Novara's impressive social media counter-campaign against YouTube's ban attracted support from far and wide - not just from far left Labour MPs such as Richard BurgonJohn McDonnell and Nadia Whittome, but also from opponents such as Conservative MP David Davis, Reclaim's Laurence Fox and broadcasters Julia Hartley-Brewer and Maajid Nawaz.  The latter had previously sought legal action against Novara's co-founder, but still found it within himself to condemn YouTube's action.  Even The Spectator's Turnpike column expressed 'solidarity'.

However, while the centre and right appeared to unite with the left against big tech censorship, it had been duly noted that Novara itself did not express feelings of solidarity when big tech came for their opponents.  The bulk of the criticism was levelled at Novara's head of video, Gary McQuiggin, who deplored YouTube's action in the following tweet.

Critics then deluged McQuiggin and his comrades Ash Sarkar, Michael Walker and Bastani with a screenshot of something he had tweeted last year...

McQuiggin has since deleted this tweet, but fortunately the internet doesn't forget.

Novara's double standards can also be applied to Ash Sarkar who has previously defended cancel culture and was also one of the main organisers of the protests against President Trump's visit to the UK in 2018.  She also welcomed his ban from Twitter, telling Unherd: "It’s a good thing that Twitter is able to just kick him off".

It appears that censorship is perfectly acceptable for the left when it's the right that is on the receiving end or things they simply don't like or agree with.

Click below for a clip in which Sarkar is asked about cancel culture for an Australian TV show.

Author Douglas Murray was among those who took exception to Novara's double standard, writing on Twitter: "These communists didn’t seem to have a problem when Big Tech came for Milo Yiannopolous, Katie Hopkins etc.  Because the hate-mongers at barely-known ‘Novara media’ thought Big Tech only came for their counterparts.  Now it’s their turn.  Funny old world".

Aaron Bastani responded directly to Murray with the following astonishing tweet.

That is quite a statement coming from a communist and one which appears to be ignore established history altogether.  Even his quote from Rosa Luxemburg is a misnomer.  The Polish Marxist made a number of quotes relating to freedom and democracy, but that apparently did not stop her from supporting the 1918 November Revolution which sought to overthrow the German government.

Like Bastani, Luxemburg never got a taste of state power.  We all know what happens when communists take power, regardless of how they get there or what they said prior to the event.  Freedom becomes mute, democracy dies.

That is the reality of communism.  The history of one-party communist states such as the Soviet Union, China, Cuba, Vietnam and North Korea does not lie.  The same cannot be said for Bastani.

BLAIRITE RILES UP FAR LEFT

Aaron Bastani and Siobhain McDonagh

Siobhain McDonagh is not a name that has filled these pages on a regular basis, her only mentions being among the lists of Brexit-blocking MPs during the 2019 impasse.  She has held the safe seat of Mitcham and Morden since 1997 and has spent almost her entire tenure as a backbencher, except for a brief period in which she served as John Reid's secretary and as an assistant whip.  A Blairite, she is not popular on the left.

During PMQs on Wednesday she tweeted the following cryptic message.

Two days earlier McDonagh had voiced support for Starmer's proposed changes to the rules for leadership elections, a move seen by many as an attempt to prevent the rise of another far left fruitcake like Corbyn.  Her explicit reference to the 2019 election triggered the fragile minds of the far left who took the jibe personally.  The likes of Aaron Boring Bastani piled in with personal attacks, while others picked over details such as the fact Corbyn's Labour received more votes in 2019 than the Labour led by Miliband, Brown and Blair in 2005.

They are a sensitive lot and McDonagh spent a couple of hours winding them up even further...

While it's always fun to see the far left ridiculed, that is not to say that we have any sympathies with the warmongering globalist Blairite cause - which is, arguably, even more dangerous.

NOVARA NARCISSISTS IN MALTA

The Marxists at Novara Media got together over the weekend for fun and frolics to celebrate the nuptials of Aaron Boring Bastani.  Bastani married Portsmouth Labour councillor Charlotte Gerada on Saturday in a very lush Maltese setting - one can only assume that Cllr Gerada suffers from chronic insomnia and she has finally found a cure in Bastani.

The social media accounts of Bastani, Owen Jones and friends were awash with photos of their exploits, including topless group photos from the beach.  The hideous narcissism on display was something to behold.  "Socialism has never been sexier" declared little Owen as he retweeted Grace Blakeley's photo of mostly white metropolitan Marxists on the beach.  "Strike a pose for Moët Marxism" wrote Matt Cole as he posted a photo of Blakeley and a female comrade.  Blakeley posted a photo of herself laying next to a rooftop pool with the 'hilarious' caption: "Novara Media Annual Conference 2021 - Luxury Communism".

"The hunk left" wrote Bastani as he shared little Owen's Instagram photo (pictured above) of four topless twats trying to look dashing, including the usually bespectacled Michael Walker (far right).  In another Instagram post, little Owen proclaimed his love for Ash Sarkar, while in yet another he poses with a book on trans issues while Ash looks on in the background.

From the one photo of the ceremony itself we are provided another dose of hypocrisy as the Bastanis appear to have been married in a religious service.  The century of terror endured by faith leaders and worshippers under communist rule is well documented.

Also, we couldn't help but notice the almost universally white bourgeoisie demographic on show - with the obvious exception of Sarkar.  Does this London-based media outlet only employ one brown face?  The hypocrisy is staggering.

George Galloway, no fan of the wee lad Owen, chipped in with a cryptic dig at the self-adulation...

It is clear from this photo that Owen's love for Ash is eclipsed only by the love she has for herself!

BASTANI'S BORED OFF

The most boring man on the hard left has quit the Labour Party, not that many people will notice.  Aaron Bastani claims that his decision was 'nothing to do with policy or politics', despite having spent the last few months laying into Starmer's leadership.  It was merely a 'professional choice' says the co-founder of commie news outlet Novara Media.  However, the Jewish Chronicle claims that Bastani quit after being alerted to a party probe into his conduct.  In a quote attributed to him by the JC, Bastani appears to suggest that he had either already been suspended or that such action was imminent: "The idea that a journalist and member of the Labour Party would be suspended at the drop of a hat suggests deep seated problems inside the party in bringing together the kind of coalition that won Joe Biden the presidency last year".

Bastani pre-empted the newspaper report by tweeting that claims of his suspension were 'complete nonsense' and attached his resignation email to back up his side of the story.  The email had been sent 'a while back' he added.  Not saying that Aaron is technologically retarded, but he appears to have printed off his email, redacted the recipient's name in marker pen and then scanned it back into his computer before uploading to Twitter!  Surely a senior editor at Novara Media has access to image editing software, no?

Bastani is perhaps best known for lashing out at the Poppy Appeal and promoting his concept of 'fully automated luxury communism'.  His dream may not be far off becoming a reality if the Great Reset comes to fruition.  That will only happen if ordinary people continue to slumber their way into it by embracing reset propaganda such as Covid lockdowns and the 'climate change emergency' to follow.

JUMPING ON THE LFC BANDWAGON

We all know that the city of Liverpool is renowned for being red, politically anyway.  Football wise there is a huge portion of blue in there, so perhaps it is for the former reason that so many Labour politicians - far and wide - were lightning quick to heap praise on the new Premier League champions.  They're not Scousers, some of them have probably never even been to a football match, but they're on the Liverpool FC bandwagon and they want some of that glory...

To be fair to Sir Squeaky, when he was asked earlier this year what the most exciting thing he'd ever done in his life was he replied that it was "going to football with my kids".  Enough said about that.  Next bandwagon jumper...

Ah, the Shadow Home Secretary, who is still less recognisable than someone who came last on Big Brother twenty years ago.  His assessment of the Liverpool team from his home in south Wales will of course be of great comfort to Liverpool fans.

Sadiq sucks up to every other minority in London, so why not the three Scousers who have settled there too?  At least Everton fan Andy Burnham was a bit more genuine about his feelings...

Tanmanjeet was born in Slough, so obviously he's a Livepool fan.

Alex comes from a village halfway between Cardiff and Swansea who don't have football teams apparently, so naturally she chose the next nearest team 200 miles away.  Poor effort!  Compare and contrast with the savvy Birmingham-raised Sultana who has provided photographic evidence of her life-long association with LFC.  Who needs Birmingham City or Aston Villa eh Zarah?

Finally, one of the sleaziest tweets came from Bournemouth posh boy communist Aaron boring Bastani, who for all we know may well have spent more time watching croquet than footy...

Doesn't all this smack of cultural appropriation?  Cancel, cancel!

UNIVERSITY CONFIRMS "WHITE LIVES DON'T MATTER"

In recent weeks the mainstream media has declared itself to be politically biased, corrupt and no longer merely news broadcasters, but propagandists for a Marxist cult.  They have decided to collectively shame white people for atrocities that took place so many generations ago that none of us alive today ever met any of those responsible.  They want to shame us all into 'taking a knee' and declare that our ancestors did nothing but bad and our history is something to be detested.  They seek to indoctrinate viewers into believing that black people are somehow oppressed by state-sponsored systemic racism, despite the fact there are few - if any - better places in the world for black people to exist on an equal footing.

If you didn't already see it, watch this propaganda clip from Sky Sports, broadcast in the wake of the supposedly offensive 'white lives matter' banner that was flown over the Burnley football match...

This is former rugby player Mike Wedderburn who, it should be noted, hasn't done too badly for himself considering he is informing viewers how institutionally racist their country is.  Note his BLM badge, once again showing that broadcasters are no longer politically neutral.  "We don't hold positions of influence in organisations" says the black guy who is literally the face of Sky as those words come out of his mouth.  "Black people have been murdered by organisations whose job it is to protect us" he says.  Now murder is a strong word and an even stronger accusation.  Can Mr Wedderburn name these victims, it might help if he could, because there are no court rulings or criminal convictions for such a crime by British police - and make no mistake, he is referring to the police.  That is the media narrative right now.  White people are bad, but the police are evil.

Finally, let's examine his assertion that "nobody is saying that white lives don't matter".  Nobody in their right mind would, likewise nobody is saying that black lives don't matter either.  You'd have to be a hateful bigot to make either statement.  Wouldn't you?  Well, it just so happens that earlier the same day as Sky Sports were indoctrinating us with Mr Wedderburn's statement a Cambridge lecturer tweeted the following...

Note that she couldn't quite get it across forcefully enough the first time, she follows it up with a secondary statement: "Abolish whiteness".  It doesn't take a genius to arrive at the outrage such a statement would make if she were talking about any other group of people.  Yet white people appear to be an acceptable target for race-hate.  Remember that the banner flown over the Burnley football match said 'white lives matter'.  It didn't say 'black lives didn't matter'.  And yet the man responsible has been visited by the police, hounded by the media and not only has he been sacked from his job, his girlfriend has also now been fired too.  Contrast this to what has happened in the last two days to Priyamvada Gopal - zero coverage by Sky, the BBC, ITV and Channel 4 and zero condemnation from any racial equality organisation.

In fact, whereas Burnley banner guy was sacked by his employers, Dr Gopal's have actually sprung to her defence and not only that, but have reportedly now promoted her to a full professorship.

While the mainstream media may have ignored this shocking story, many social media users have not.  Dr Gopal and her university have been bombarded with complaints and an online petition to have her kicked out has garnered more than 15,000 names and counting.  Not surprisingly Dr Gopal has received a lot of abuse over her racist tweet and has spent the last two days outing some of the more abusive messengers and goading others.

As with the equally odious Shaun King we reported on earlier this week, Gopal is followed by several Labour MPs on Twitter including Stella Creasy, Clive Lewis, Tanmanjeet Singh Dhesi, Zarah Sultana, Claudia Webbe and Nadia Whittome.  The open borders Labour Campaign for Free Movement also follows her, as do commie Novara Media pundits Aaron Bastani and Ash Sarkar.  Despite the abhorrently racist nature of her Gopal's tweets, many of her colleagues have rallied around her and she even received a message of support from BBC 'comedian' Nish Kumar.

Could you imagine a celebrity expressing solidarity with Burnley banner guy?  He or she would face the sack and, once again, let's remember that his message was neither derogatory or racist.  Dr Gopal's tweet was so racist that even ultra woke Twitter removed it, although her follow-up remark about abolishing whiteness remains at the time of writing.

There is also a shocking double standard on display here from the University of Cambridge.  While it appears to be giving Dr Gopal the benefit of a right to free speech (even if it does incite racial hatred), it has not afforded that same right to others.  Last year the university rescinded an invitation to Toronto psychology professor Jordan Peterson over his views on trans rights.  You'll remember him from his epic take down of Channel 4's Cathy Newman in 2018...

Also last year Cambridge University failed to uphold the freedom of speech of one of its own fellows.  Noah Carl was dismissed from his fellowship at St Edmund's College after ironically finding his work "promoted extreme right-wing views and incited racial and religious hatred".  Among Carl's 'heinous' views included his linking of Islam with Islamist terrorism.  Surely the clue's in the name?  In announcing his dismissal the university announced that Carl's views "fell outside any protection that might otherwise be claimed for academic freedom of speech".  It added: "Diversity and inclusivity are fundamental values of the College and we abhor racism and religious hatred".

So then, why are the rules different for Dr Gopal?  If the same doesn't apply to her overtly racist language then the logical conclusion at which to arrive is that white lives really don't matter.

MAAJID HUMILIATES BASTANI

Aaron Bastani and Maajid Nawaz

Commie journalist Aaron Bastani was forced into a humiliating apology last weekend over a tweet in which he labelled radio presenter Maajid Nawaz a 'former terrorist'.  Last December Bastani had responded to Nawaz's criticism of Jeremy Corbyn by tweeting that Nawaz was "literally a former terrorist".  Nawaz was once a member of the Islamist group Hizb ut-Tahrir and served time in an Egyptian prison for his membership.  However, while the group is banned in many countries it is not considered a terrorist group in the UK and is not proscribed here.
Nawaz took legal action following Bastani's tweet and sued for defamation.  Last Friday Bastani issued the following public apology, including a commitment to donate to Nawaz's counter-extremism group Quilliam.

Bastani is the co-founder of hard left media outlet Novara Media, the same organisation that employs Ash Sarkar.  He espouses his own brand of communism, something he calls 'fully automated luxury communism'.  It is as daft as it sounds.

You may be familiar with Maajid Nawaz from his weekend slot on LBC Radio or regular appearances on Sky's The Pledge.  Having turned his back on Islamism he went on to form Quilliam, a think tank opposed to Islamist ideology.  In recent years Nawaz has become highly critical of the hard left and has called for a national inquiry into Muslim grooming gangs.  Much of his Twitter activity on Friday and Saturday was dedicated to rubbing Bastani's nose in it.  Glorious.

SUGAR TRIGGERS CORBYNISTAS

Corbyn critic Lord Sugar has once again stoked the ire of the Great Leader's loyal followers.  Novara Media's Aaron Bastani was one of those who bit...

By the way Aaron, you are one of the biggest dullards ever to grace any political persuasion, so it's somewhat ironic that you're calling someone "charmless".  George Galloway was similarly outraged and not only reported the peer to Twitter, but later reported him to the Pope himself!  Not joking, see the second tweet below.

It's a safe bet that if these remains belonged to victims of Stalin the left wouldn't bat an eyelid.

NOVARA EDITOR INSULTS OUR TROOPS

You may not have heard of Novara Media, but you've probably encountered their 'journalists'.  The most prominent ones are Ash 'literally a communist' Sarkar and Aaron 'automated communism' Bastani.  Please don't watch the last video through to the end, unless you're a chronic insomniac.  We posted Sarkar's astonishing "Free money for everyone" video yesterday.

Despite Novara Media's unashamedly communist agenda, they don't support one of the miniscule loony left parties such as the Communist Party of Britain or Socialist Party of Great Britain.  No, they support the most mainstream communist party currently registered - Jeremy Corbyn's Labour.  And like Jeremy, they espouse the usual anti-British sentiment associated with the far left.

One of their co-editors is a guy called James Butler.  He keeps a low profile and goes by the name of 'James B' on Twitter.  Yesterday he denounced a statement by Gavin Williamson, the Defence Secretary.

Only a Brit-hating commie could find such a sentence stomach-turning, but then the far left is a natural ally of the Marxist IRA.  That is why Jamesie's heroes in red red Labour were fawning all over Adams and McGuinness throughout the 1980s.

Who were the real cowards of the Troubles?  The uniformed men who patrolled in the open and risked their lives every single day, in the full knowledge that it could be the day they were struck down by a sniper's bullet or car bomb - or the faceless men who placed those bombs and ran away, hid in bushes or attacked from the safety of the Irish Republic?

James Butler despises British soldiers

Just one more thing to note wee man.  It was a Labour government that put those troops on the streets.
