RECORD BALLOT IN CLACTON

The main parties may be absent from the Clacton ballot paper, but there will be plenty of candidates for voters to choose from in the August 13 clown show.  In fact, this by-election will have the most crowded ballot paper in British electoral history - a staggering total of 34 candidates.  This eclipses the previous record of 26 candidates, which was set in the 2008 Haltemprice and Howden by-election.  That by-election was triggered in similar fashion by Tory MP David Davis, who resigned his seat and went on to win the resulting by-election.

Nominations for Clacton closed on Friday and the long list of candidates includes no less than 21 independents and the highly unusual presence of multiple candidates from the Monster Raving Loony Party - three in fact.  This was in part due to the already comical nature of the by-election, plus there are a few electoral records at stake - it's never been done before and the party leader (Howling Laud Hope) will break the record set by his predecessor (Screaming Lord Sutch) for most by-elections contested.

There are eight small parties standing, some of which we have never heard of, such as Consensus and Everyone is God.  The most prominent among these is Laurence Fox, whose Reclaim Party is standing for the first time since the 2023 Uxbridge by-election.  Fox lost his deposit that night, in fact his party have lost their deposit in every election they have ever contested - which isn't many, as this will be only their fifth outing.

The farcical nature of this by-election is epitomised by the litany of clown candidates standing.  Three Monster Raving Loons aside, we've got candidates calling themselves Joseph 77, Woke Trump Carzee and, of course, the establishment hope Count Binface.  The left-wing comedian who dons the costume was one of the earliest candidates to declare his intention to stand, which led to a media frenzy around him designed to present him as a potential challenger to Farage.  Labour donor Dale Vince offered to fund Binface's campaign to the tune of £180,000, while Andy Burnham said Binface "is carrying the hopes of the nation".

They are all desperate to frame the contest as a straightforward head-to-head, in an attempt to mock Farage and possibly unseat him or in the very least inflict a close call that would be a huge embarrassment to the Reform leader.  Defeat against Clown Binface would be career-ending for Farage and it's not beyond the realms of possibility - more people voted for other parties in 2024 than voted for Reform - and Brits do love a novelty act.  However, with 32 other candidates now in the hat, that possibility is greatly diminished.  It would also be highly unlikely that thousands of Tory voters would back a left-wing clown dressed as a bin.  The Conservatives finished second here in 2024.

No constituency polling has been published as yet, but betting markets strongly favour Farage.  He is currently odds on across the board, with most bookies only offering odds on him and Binface.  It does look incredibly likely that 32 candidates will lose their deposits, which will present the treasury with a tidy sum £16,000.

FOX TROLLS THE COVID TROLLS

Much to the delight of lefty Covid bedwetters everywhere, Reclaim's Laurence Fox has contracted the Wuhan virus.  Unfortunately for the haters, Fox has almost fully recovered after just three days and has been rubbing their noses in it on Twitter.  The vaccine critic delivered a typically deadpan rebuke in a live video (see below).

Fox has since confirmed that in addition to Panadol and 'hot toddies', he is taking Ivermectin.  The mere utterance of Ivermectin has inevitably led to accusations he is taking 'horse de-wormer', as happened to US talk show host Joe Rogan last year.  Rogan had actually been prescribed Ivermectin by his doctor, as have millions of people around the world for several decades.  Fox says he bought his dose 'over the counter' during a holiday in Mexico last year.

The establishment is so obsessed with Covid vaccination that any suggestion of a treatment is ridiculed.  Even the proven benefits of vitamin C, D and zinc have not been promoted during the pandemic.  Meanwhile, there were another four medical emergencies at football matches over the weekend, including the death of a Fulham fan.  This is not normal.

FOX'S TOP TEN COVID CUN...

It's fair to say that the Reclaim Party have got off to a slow start.  They've spent thousands on election deposits and lost every penny.  How long it will be before Laurence Fox bores of his new career is anyone's guess, but one thing is for sure - he will not fail to entertain along the way.  Here is a man who does not take himself seriously, which is perhaps a view shared by the electorate - albeit such an attribute did not stop the current Prime Minister from reaching the very top.

NOVARA'S CENSORSHIP HYPOCRISY

Marxist media outlet Novara Media had its YouTube channel temporarily deleted on Tuesday.  A statement put out by Novara at 11:40 said the action had been carried out by YouTube without 'warning or explanation'.  Less than three hours later Novara reported that the channel had been reinstated 'following a deluge of support from across the political spectrum'.

Novara has an impressive following on YouTube with almost 170,000 subscribers.  It has a similar number of followers on its Twitter account, with smaller followings on Facebook and Instagram.  Novara's impressive social media counter-campaign against YouTube's ban attracted support from far and wide - not just from far left Labour MPs such as Richard Burgon, John McDonnell and Nadia Whittome, but also from opponents such as Conservative MP David Davis, Reclaim's Laurence Fox and broadcasters Julia Hartley-Brewer and Maajid Nawaz.  The latter had previously sought legal action against Novara's co-founder, but still found it within himself to condemn YouTube's action.  Even The Spectator's Turnpike column expressed 'solidarity'.

However, while the centre and right appeared to unite with the left against big tech censorship, it had been duly noted that Novara itself did not express feelings of solidarity when big tech came for their opponents.  The bulk of the criticism was levelled at Novara's head of video, Gary McQuiggin, who deplored YouTube's action in the following tweet.

Critics then deluged McQuiggin and his comrades Ash Sarkar, Michael Walker and Bastani with a screenshot of something he had tweeted last year...

McQuiggin has since deleted this tweet, but fortunately the internet doesn't forget.

Novara's double standards can also be applied to Ash Sarkar who has previously defended cancel culture and was also one of the main organisers of the protests against President Trump's visit to the UK in 2018.  She also welcomed his ban from Twitter, telling Unherd: "It’s a good thing that Twitter is able to just kick him off".

It appears that censorship is perfectly acceptable for the left when it's the right that is on the receiving end or things they simply don't like or agree with.

Author Douglas Murray was among those who took exception to Novara's double standard, writing on Twitter: "These communists didn’t seem to have a problem when Big Tech came for Milo Yiannopolous, Katie Hopkins etc.  Because the hate-mongers at barely-known ‘Novara media’ thought Big Tech only came for their counterparts.  Now it’s their turn.  Funny old world".

Aaron Bastani responded directly to Murray with the following astonishing tweet.

That is quite a statement coming from a communist and one which appears to be ignore established history altogether.  Even his quote from Rosa Luxemburg is a misnomer.  The Polish Marxist made a number of quotes relating to freedom and democracy, but that apparently did not stop her from supporting the 1918 November Revolution which sought to overthrow the German government.

Like Bastani, Luxemburg never got a taste of state power.  We all know what happens when communists take power, regardless of how they get there or what they said prior to the event.  Freedom becomes mute, democracy dies.

That is the reality of communism.  The history of one-party communist states such as the Soviet Union, China, Cuba, Vietnam and North Korea does not lie.  The same cannot be said for Bastani.

SATURDAY SUPERSTARS

A well shared photo over the weekend saw Laurence Fox head a superb line-up to trigger any leftist. The Fox was joined by his Reclaim colleague Calvin Robinson, Brexit hero Darren Grimes and Antifa nemesis Andy Ngo for a lunch meeting on Saturday.

The topics for discussion are not clear, although Grimes recently tweeted that he had resigned from the Conservative Party over vaccine passports.  Is he about to join Fox and Robinson in the Reclaim Party?  Or was he merely there to take advantage of Andy Ngo's presence in the UK?  Ngo is currently holidaying here and any self-respecting critic of the far left would jump at the chance to meet the man who has singlehandedly done more damage to Anfifa/BLM than anyone.

Over the years Ngo has infiltrated Antifa and last year exposed the violent reality of what the media repeatedly dubbed 'peaceful protests' following the death of George Floyd.  He has been assaulted several times by far left thugs during the course of his work and has been subjected to numerous death threats.  His book Unmasked: Inside Antifa's Radical Plan to Destroy Democracy was a national bestseller in the US.

Both Grimes and Fox tweeted the above photo with the tag 'white supremacist lunch club', in reference to the clearly diverse nature of the club.  Ngo commented: "Gay, black, Asian white supremacists".

As Western society has become more diverse, so has conservatism.  This is a good thing as it makes a mockery of the left's persistent characterisation of the right as 'racist'.  The rise of President Trump alerted many to the reality of the broad church of Western conservatism.  Leftists looked away in horror and stuck their heads in the sand, but the roll-call of prominent MAGA-capped black conservatives was endless.  However, the likes of Candace Owens, Sheriff David Clarke, the Hodgetwins, Diamond & Silk, David J Harris, Terrence K Williams and Joel Patrick were conservatives long before Trump was elected.

The condescending left do not own or represent ethnic minorities.  In any case, the cultural backgrounds of many such communities are more naturally tilted towards conservative values, as opposed to the decadent, debauched surroundings of the modern left.  Together, we will beat the rise of the far left, but in the meantime we have bigger globalist fish to fry.

FOX & CO IGNORE LABOUR BAN

An open air debate banned by Kirklees Council went ahead anyway on Thursday thanks to the defiance of its organisers.  The debate in Batley's marketplace had been billed as a 'free speech rally' by Reclaim Party leader Laurence Fox.  The chief topic for discussion was the ongoing fallout from the Muhammad cartoon incident at Batley Grammar School - the teacher involved is still in hiding from Muslim fanatics three months on.  A spokesman for Labour-run Kirklees Council said their ban on the rally was on the grounds of 'public safety':

"The council welcomes healthy debate and respects freedom of speech.  We also have a responsibility to make sure all events we permit on our land are safe, well organised and take into account potential disruption to local residents and businesses.  That’s why we ask organisers - in advance of an event - to provide details of their plans, how they have assessed potential risks and how we can work together to make sure their event goes smoothly for everyone.  This is a common sense approach and is standard practice across local authorities.  In this case, the event organisers have not requested permission for the use of the council’s land.  In the absence of assurances on public safety and legal compliance with Covid requirements or the impact on residents and businesses, council staff had no choice but to notify the organiser that they did not have permission to use the council’s assets".

Fox called the decision an 'affront to democracy' and went ahead as planned.  Also speaking at the rally was the popular local independent candidate Paul Halloran, who has indicated that he would stand as a Reclaim candidate in future.  Neither Halloran or Reclaim are standing in next week's by-election, but George Galloway is - much to the dismay of his former party.  Galloway addressed the rally and had some damning analysis of Labour, outgoing Batley MP Tracy Brabin and identity politics.

In a separate interview, Galloway went further: "Labour is going out in a puff of wokery.  Its trans-mania infatuation has turned off millions.  The visceral dislike of Labour on white English working-class estates is palpable.  People have concluded Labour doesn’t like them - and they heartily reciprocate".  Ironically it's the Muslim vote that Galloway is reportedly mopping up in Batley and Spen, dividing what had previously been a block Labour vote and almost certainly delivering the seat to the Tories in the process.

Both the Labour and Conservative candidates ignored an invitation to attend the debate, something Fox alluded to on Twitter.

The rally was attended by around 200 locals and heard from Fox, Halloran, Galloway, Martin Daubney (ex-Brexit Party MEP) and candidates from the SDP and Monster Raving Loony Party.  Labour's absence and their council's attempt to halt the event will have done the party no favours in Batley.  And say what you like about Galloway, but he is a man who defies the contemporary cancel crybabies of the left and will share a platform with anyone - including his political opponents.  This is called being a grown up!

LONDON TO KEEP ON FALLING

Aspiring politician Laurence Fox will get his first big test today when he stands in London's mayoral election.  A record 20 candidates are standing in the election, so Fox is among a very crowded field.  Each candidate needs at least five per cent of the vote in order to save their deposit, which is a whopping £10,000 in this election.  With the two leading candidates set to receive as much as 80 per cent between them, it doesn't take a genius to work out that most of those candidates will lose their deposits.

Fox will do well to keep his, but with a household name and big money backing his Reclaim Party, he could potentially do much better.  Some Tories are worried that his presence will 'split the vote' and hamper Shaun Bailey's chances.  Unfortunately, for everyone, Bailey has little chance of success anyway.

In the most recent opinion poll Bailey was 12 points behind Khan in the first ballot and 18 points behind in the final round.  The final round is required if no candidate achieves more than 50 per cent in the first ballot.  Khan had been polling more than 50 per cent earlier in the spring, peaking at 53 per cent in March.  Having fallen to 43 per cent on the eve of polling will dent his massive ego.

Contrary to the warblings of some Tory backers, there is nothing wrong with Shaun Bailey's candidacy.  They will blame Bailey when he fails to defeat Khan, but the sad truth is that there was no-one else they could put forward who would have been a significant threat to the mayor of this painfully woke city.  A rapidly changing demographic killed off their chances, not their candidate.

Bailey is a great candidate who is more than a match for Khan and has the common touch that Khan lacks.  Khan is great when it comes to ego-massaging selfies with his adoring woke electorate, but he runs a mile when a disgruntled peasant approaches.  He is archetypal of the modern Labour politician - working class people are like vermin to him and the sooner they are run out of London completely the better.  The future is grim for our capital city and it seems that no matter how much crime spirals out of control, the middle classes can't get enough of Khan.

For now all we can hope is that Bailey does better than expected and Fox, too.  A saved deposit for the latter would spare his blushes and give him a base on which to build.  The continuing overlap between his party and Reform may lead to an official merger later on, but the British people are crying out for a third party to challenge the two-party protection racket that offers nothing but lockdown and misery.

KEIR'S FRIDAY NIGHT KNEES-UP

On Saturday morning a video tweeted by London mayoral candidate and Reclaim Party leader Laurence Fox shows Keir Starmer having some sort of knees-up indoors.  Fox tagged Starmer in the tweet and wrote: "It would seem that the mask has already slipped for ⁦Keir Starmer.  Don’t share widely.  No-one is perfect".

The video is filmed through the window of a building and shows a bespectacled Labour leader holding a bottle of beer and chatting to hard left Labour MP Mary Foy (Durham).  People can be seen milling around in the background, one of whom is standing and eating from a plate, suggesting that there is some kind of social event in progress.  This would be in contravention of the coronavirus rules that Starmer and his colleagues expect the rest of us plebs to adhere to.

As of Sunday morning the only media outlet to cover this story is The Sun.  One can imagine the wall-to-wall hourly coverage if it had been Boris and chums.

It turns out that the footage was filmed on Friday night prior to Starmer's latest visit to Hartlepool for the crucial forthcoming by-election.  The gathering reportedly took place in a constituency office in nearby Durham.  A Labour spokesman told The Sun: "Keir was in the workplace, meeting a local MP in her constituency office and participating in an online Labour Party event.  They paused for dinner as the meeting was during the evening".

Going by the video this was clearly not a dinner setting and appears to be more of a buffet and a knees-up - a clear case of rules for thee, but not for me.

SKY NEWS OZ AND THE FOX

While BBC News refused to cover the huge anti-lockdown protest on Saturday, the unshackled platform of Sky News Australia was not only happy to give it airtime, but gave protesters their blessing.  On conservative show 'Outsiders' co-hosts Rowan Dean and Rita Panahi lashed out at 'lockdown lunacy' and Dean called out what many on the right in Britain are already well aware of - Boris Johnson is not a conservative.

Rowan Dean appears to be quite the fan of Laurence Fox, despite the fact the Reclaim Party leader considers himself more of a liberal than a conservative.  In keeping with his outspoken opposition to Covid lockdowns, Fox was at the demonstration on Saturday and spoke to former BBC and ITV reporter Anna Brees (see video below).

Note that once again Fox was shadowed by the former Brexit Party MEP Martin Daubney, whose ever presence in the Reclaim camp further blurs the lines between Reclaim and what is now known as Reform UK.  With Farage and Tice backing Fox for London mayor and Fox backing Reform UK for the London Assembly one wonders why they don't just join forces.  Egos play a large part - both Fox and Tice relish the spotlight, but they are also awaiting the outcome of these elections in order to assess each other's electoral potential.  Given our descent into tyranny courtesy of the main parties, the UK is screaming for a viable alternative.

MOST SHARED: WEEK 280

It was more than a week ago that The Times first broke the story that the BBC were thinking about dropping Rule, Britannia! and Land of Hope and Glory from the Proms.  The immediate backlash put the Beeb in a spin, but they took full advantage of the absence of a live audience and announced that the songs would be included - but without words.  This was clearly pandering to the anti-British Marxists of Black Lives Matter, which the Beeb has spent the last three months promoting.

It's not likely we'll see Laurence Fox on the BBC again, especially seeing as the anti-woke actor has gone into full attack mode following the Proms censorship.  It was one of his tweets that featured in last week's most shared.

O'BRIEN BOTTLES FOX CHALLENGE

Smug radio presenter James O'Brien has been challenged to a head-to-head debate by the anti-woke actor Laurence Fox.  The challenge arose from a tweet in which O'Brien sneeringly referred to Fox as 'the lad from Lewis' - the TV show for which he is most famous - before proceeding to mock his real-life character.  The tweet came amid a Twitter spat between Fox and Owen Jones over 'cancel culture'.

Fox retweeted O'Brien later that evening with a challenge.

When there was no immediate response from O'Brien, Fox followed up with a direct address.

Fox has previously offered to face some of his other detractors and met with Bonnie Greer pre-lockdown.  Four days on O'Brien has not responded to Fox's challenge, which is somewhat odd for someone who sees himself as the intellectual almighty.

FOX RETURNS TO DEBATE

The breath of fresh air that is actor Laurence Fox has returned to the political debate via TalkRadio.  Speaking to Kevin O'Sullivan earlier this week he began with a joke, saying that coronavirus is very good for the 98 'other' genders because it only seems to be men and women catching it.  The rest of the discussion is dedicated to the scourge of identity politics.  Watch below for the full 13 minute chat.

After deleting his Twitter account in February, Fox is now back with a new account and continuing to mock leftists using the hashtag #stunningandbrave.  Bravo, sir.

Retweeting your troll to a much wider audience is a tactic deployed by many celebs and can lead to the troll themselves being trolled.  Bullies and cowards are generally only able to hand out abuse and cannot take it, often deleting their tweet and/or account when faced with a backlash themselves.  Fox won several of his Twitter battles this way.

Note that in her tweet she identifies as 'black', which of course she is entitled to do.  Except that she's not, in the same way Meghan Markle isn't black.  With their pale skin and flowing locks it's an absurd suggestion and one might argue that to deny one side of your parentage based on race is in itself racist.  Just saying.

The lack of self awareness on display from the singer here is astonishing.  Is this the same Lily Allen who constantly forces her woke left-wing opinions on the rest of us?  Is this the same Lily Allen who is the daughter of two famous actors?  Pot, kettle, black.  Perhaps given her semi-literate outbursts and foul mouth she should stick to singing!

As for Fox's awesome hashtag #stunningandbrave, it comes from the title of an episode of the satirical US show South Park.  The episode in question mocks the increasing authoritarianism of political correctness.  How very apt.

REMOANER'S GROOMING GANG EDIT

This week's Question Time featured a rather humdrum line-up at first glance, but there was always the wildcard celeb who might spice things up a bit.  It's fair to say that actor Laurence Fox did a little more than that.  Twitter is still in meltdown 24 hours later.

One of several outstanding contributions Fox made to the programme was his assessment of identity politics that resulted in a huge online backlash from the left.  He later expanded on this, but crossed a red line on all establishment fronts - he mentioned grooming gangs.

One of the thousands of Twitter followers incensed by Fox's antics was the Remain campaigner Femi Izawally.  He issued a series of tweets condemning Fox, including one supposedly featuring a clip from the programme.  However, as you can see below there is a key difference between what was actually broadcast on BBC1 and the edited version he put out to his 245,000 Twitter followers...

Next time you see his smug face on TV, just remember that he is not just an affront to democracy, he is another enabler of the industrial scale rape of English girls by Muslim gangs.  They have been allowed to get away with this for years because of a conspiracy of silence, something which Laurence Fox alluded to, and something which the odious Femi has proven with his shockingly poor edit.
