INSIDE THE HOUSE OF REMAIN

Brexiteers Fox and Hoey

Baroness Fox spoke in support of the government as the House of Lords debated the Internal Market Bill on Monday.  As expected, the Remainer-loaded second chamber voted heavily in favour of removing parts of the bill that overruled the EU withdrawal agreement.  More than forty Tory peers were among those who threw out these clauses in crushing defeats of 433-165 and 407-148.  Heavily outnumbered, but undeterred, new peer Fox denounced attempts to block the bill in a nine minute speech (see below).

Intriguingly the former Brexit Party MEP was flanked by Baroness Hoey, the former Labour MP and fellow Brexiteer.  While Fox is a former member of the pro-IRA Revolutionary Communist Party, Kate Hoey is a Northern Ireland protestant and Unionist.  One wore a poppy, one did not, but Fox's speech revolved around respecting the territorial sovereignty of the United Kingdom.  Great speech, odd couple, strange times...

FOX HITS OUT AT IDENTITY POLITICS

In the latest of Steven Edginton's in-depth interviews for The Sun he speaks to the Brexit Party's Claire Fox.  Fox gives her take on Black Lives Matter, speaking as someone who began her political journey as a communist and has over the years held some pretty reprehensible views herself.  Fox says that the BLM movement have sought to stifle people's ability to speak freely and anyone who doesn't toe their line is automatically designated a racist.  One of the tactics they deploy to silence their opponents is the daft notion of 'white privilege', which Fox rubbishes: "How can you have white privilege if you're a homeless white person?"

Fox goes on to demolish the left's divisive agenda and asserts that 'McCarthyite' identity politics is doing immense damage to the cause of fighting racism.  She's not wrong there.  She also discusses the silence over Muslim grooming gangs and says that the fear of being called racist meant that the victims were abandoned by the establishment.  This was in itself a form of racial discrimination against the victims.

THE 'SOCIAL WORK PARTY'

Back in February the Brexit Party's Claire Fox took part in a debate that included Labour's Faiza Shaheen.  The full debate can be found here, but of particular interest is Fox's assessment of how the modern Labour Party treats the working classes it was designed to represent.  She ties in Brexit as a prime example of how Labour lost the workers and lost the general election.

Watch below for her superb analysis.

CAMPBELL OUTFOXED

Alastair Campbell clashed with the Brexit Party's Claire Fox on the BBC's Politics Live earlier today.  Never one to miss an opportunity to bash Brexit, Campbell bizarrely claimed that our departure from the EU would help to destabilise the Middle East still further.  Shocking arrogance from Campbell, but Fox was swift to point out that the biggest destabilising factor in the region in was the Iraq War.  He laughed off her comments as only a true psychopath could, having contributed to the deaths of hundreds of thousands of people with his dodgy Iraq dossier...

ADONIS VS FOX

Labour's Lord Adonis went up against the Brexit Party's Claire Fox yesterday over the leaked (and completely irrelevant) no deal papers.  It was an inspired pairing, considering that both stood in the European elections this year.  While the fanatically pro-EU Adonis failed to get elected, Fox (who is far to the left of him), is now a Brexiteering MEP.  So much for the 'hard-right' Brexit so many remoaners talk about.

Fair play to Richard 'Sniff' Bacon for putting aside his Remain allegiance to one side during this debate.  Adonis was probably expecting an easy ride.
