THE (EX) LABOUR 15

15 former Labour MPs have put their names to an advert today urging voters to "think again" about backing Labour.  This is not simply a collection of pro-Brexit, Tory-backing ex-members, far from it.  This is a diverse group coming at from a variety of political angles.  There are the ardent Brexiteers Tom Harris and Gisela Stuart, but there are also ardent Remainers such as Mike Gapes, Ann Coffey, Louise Ellman and Chris Leslie.  The latter group are certainly not advocating a vote for the Tories, just anyone but Corbyn.  However, as there are only two scenarios on Friday - either Brexit with Boris or the death of Brexit with Corbyn, they will clearly be relieved to see a Boris victory.  That says a lot about how emotive feelings are towards Corbyn and safeguarding the security of our nation - in that individuals so vociferously opposed to Brexit would rather see Brexit happen than have their former leader running the country.

GISELA STUART BACKS BORIS

Former Labour MP Gisela Stuart appeared alongside Boris Johnson and Michael Gove today and urged voters to back the Conservatives.  While several of her former colleagues have already voiced support for the Tories at this election, this is the first time a former Labour MP has actually appeared at a Conservative event.  Stuart was a prominent figure in the Leave campaign and stood down as the MP for Birmingham Edgbaston in 2017.  Her message today was clearly aimed at Labour Leave voters in the Labour heartlands, whose votes could very well decide the outcome of this election.

ADONIS APOLOGY... SEVEN MONTHS LATER

Crazed remoaner Lord Adonis has today issued an apology for an outburst he made on LBC Radio last September.  Adonis published the apology on his Facebook page (see below).  In the LBC interview he urged anyone who supported Brexit not to vote Labour (see the video at the foot of this article).  His bizarre posturing astonished former Labour MP Gisela Stuart, who was also present in the studio.

Quite why it's taken him seven months to apologise is unclear, but the fact that he is now running as a Euro candidate can surely be no coincidence.  Selected as number two on Labour's list for the South West of England he is up against it.  Currently Labour only holds one of the six seats in that region and for him to win would require a significant swing away from the Tories and UKIP.  Unlikely, so he is after all the votes he can get.  Hence his apology and ridiculous claim that Labour still - despite all it has done to sabotage Brexit - "respects the result of the referendum".

Are his bizarre outbursts about to be toned down?  This is the original LBC encounter for which he has now apologised...

LORD ADONIS SAYS DON'T VOTE LABOUR!

Lord Adonis has appeared on LBC today and clashed with former Labour MP Gisela Stuart over Brexit.  Like several Labour figures (think Ben Bradshaw, Dave Lammy, Lord Mandelson) Adonis has clearly been driven mad by Brexit.  Gisela Stuart, clearly flabbergasted, and Iain Dale were quick to point out the lunacy of his argument.

"If you're a Brexiter I hope you won't vote for the Labour Party"
