STARMER HIT BY RESIGNATION

With your party conference just one week away it's not great timing to have one of your front benchers suddenly quit, but that's what happened to Keir Starmer today.  Marsha de Cordova (pictured) has stood down as shadow women and equalities secretary with immediate effect.  The Battersea MP says she wants to concentrate on constituency work in her Battersea marginal.

Control of Battersea has rebounded between Labour and the Tories since 1983.  De Cordova was elected in 2017 and currently has a majority of 5,688.  It appears that she is desperate to stay on the Westminster gravy train.

In response, Keir Starmer tweeted: "Thank you Marsha for your service and work highlighting the disproportionate impact Covid has had on Black, Asian, minority ethnic and disabled people. You've laid the foundations for a new Labour Race Equality Act to tackle structural inequalities which have existed for too long".  He has not announced a replacement at the time of writing.

BREXIT-BLOCKING LEGAL ACTIONS

A second legal action aimed at preventing a no deal Brexit has been launched.  Remain campaigner Gina Miller has already served a legal notice on Boris Johnson that she be informed of any plan to suspend Parliament with seven days notice (so that she can challenge the decision in court).  Yes, she holds herself in such high regard.  Despite everything Gina is still bizarrely claiming that she is not trying to stop Brexit.  As Niall Paterson recently observed in a Sky interview with her:  "There will be people watching this going 'Who do you think you are?'"  Miller replied (with a straight face):  "Each of us in a democracy as a citizen has the right to exercise our legitimate questions of the courts".  Well Gina, there were 17.4million citizens of this democracy who exercised their rights in 2016 and you are clearly trying to frustrate and deny their legitimate mandate.

The latest attempt to stop Boris Johnson proroguing Parliament involves a group of cross-party MPs and peers seeking a ruling from the Court of Session in Edinburgh.  Their aim is to declare such a move 'unlawful'.  Politicians named in the legal action are mostly Labour, with a spattering of SNP, Plaid, Lib Dems, Green and a couple of former Change UK cranks (see list below).

BALLOON HEADS ON THE MARCH

Little Owen is currently headlining a bunch of fascist lefties gathering in London to protest against Boris Johnson and the Leave mandate.  Labour MPs Clive Lewis, Marsha de Cordova and Anneliese Dodds are among the remoaners addressing the crowd.

The losers have also shelled out on a rather pathetic cartoon 'blimp' of Boris Johnson.  We say 'blimp', but it's actually just a big balloon that floats a few feet off the ground.  It's fair to say that the left has hit rock bottom with these playground antics, throwing shed loads of money at gimmicks that make themselves look idiotic rather than the people who the balloons are supposed to represent.  The fact the morons can't see it shows how much they share with their daft balloons ie. they're both full of hot air and little else.

For some reason Owen had to pull out of his big speech today, "for personal reasons" he tweeted.  A huge loss for the crowd no doubt, half of whom think he's an annoying little narcissist gobshite as much as anyone on the right does.
