MEME MONDAY #46

A whopping twenty memes from Karl last week helped chronicle a week packed full of disturbing revelations about the rise of Starmer's police state.  The week had begun with a demolition of Starmer by President Trump, during which the PM repeated his claim that: "We've had free speech in the United Kingdom for a very long time".  These were the same words he uttered during his brief spat with JD Vance in the Oval Office earlier this year.  The word 'had' - past tense - makes for clever gaslighting, but Starmer is fooling no-one.

The cat is well and truly out of the bag now and with a digital ID on the way, our descent into tyranny is well on track...

Tue 29 Jul - 161 shares.  Kyle's post on X, which was a direct attack on Nigel
Farage, was quickly littered with pictures of the MP alongside one of his Hove
predecessors - the disgraced pervert Ivor Caplin.  Oops!

Tue 29 Jul - 13 shares.  Starmer has decided to go in
hard on the side of Palestine, in a desperate attempt to fend
off the looming threat of Corbyn's Fruit and Nut party

Wed 30 Jul - 1,310 shares.  Although the most popular meme of
the week, it also led to huge constitutional debate in the
comments about whether or not London is 'the capital city of
Mrs Trump's homeland'.   Mary Anne MacLeod was born on the
Isle of Lewis in Scotland in 1912, which would have made her a
British subject - not a British citizen as argued by Richey.  The
two are similar, but not the same.  Whether Mrs Trump
considered herself Scottish, British or both is not clear, but
regardless of her feelings on nationality, she was both.  The
question of London being the capital city is complicated by the
constitutional nature of the United Kingdom, but where Richey
argued that London is the capital of Great  Britain he is
technically incorrect.  London was the capital of Great Britain
from 1707 to 1801, but then became the capital of the newly
formed United Kingdom and has remained since.  Great Britain
ceased to exist as a sovereign state in 1801, therefore Richey is
mistaken.  The meme itself can still be regarded factually correct
if Mrs Trump's homeland refers to the United Kingdom and not
Great Britain or Scotland.  In any case, the meme was still
very popular!

Thu 31 Jul - 18 shares.  This could have easily been a Woke Wednesday feature.
The rabid reaction to a pretty white girl modelling some jeans and a clever play
on words by the manufacturer - American Eagle - exposed the left and the
establishment to counter claims of why it is acceptable to say a mixed race
person has good 'jeans' (genes), but not a white person.  The biggest racists
are the left, never forget it!

Fri 1 Aug - 54 shares.  BTLP still has a Gab account, but it never really took off
and Gab wasn't helped by Elon's acquisition and transformation of Twitter.  Sadly,
Andrew Torba's venture has now pulled the site from the UK, on the back of
increasing censorship of social media.  It can still be accessed by VPN - although
there are various voices in Labour now calling for a ban on VPNs (Virtual Private
Networks)

In addition to a busy week of meming, Karl also found time to post five Facebook Stories, including news of a very good couple of days on the backup page.  The strange thing is that despite adding more than 30,000 followers to the backup page this year, the net gain in following on the main page remains zero.  Distribution of the main page is much greater than the backup page, so this does not make any sense.  If anyone has found themselves being mysteriously removed from following us, be sure to let us know.  You can contact us directly via X.

GAB NO MORE!

The UK government's war on free speech and privacy has picked up pace now Labour are implementing the globalist agenda.  Starmer's government is currently embroiled in a legal battle with tech giant Apple, over access to user's data, including personal communications.  This information is intentionally encrypted by Apple to protect user's privacy, but the state expects to monitor and presumably police it like a totalitarian regime.  Ironically, the government wanted to protect its own privacy by demanding that these legal proceedings be conducted in secrecy, a request thankfully denied by the judge.

If the government gets away with this, they will surely take on every other tech firm that offers end to end encryption services to its users, such as WhatsApp.

State intrusion and censorship was highlighted again this week with free speech social media platform Gab pulling out of the UK altogether.  Gab is a platform we have used in the past, particularly in light of censorship conducted by much larger platforms such as Facebook and what was then known as Twitter.  Earlier this week Gab decided that rather than have the British government decide what users posted or were allowed to see, it would simply pull the plug.

Now, UK users attempting to access Gab are greeted by the following page.

Gab CEO Andrew Torba released a separate statement on X last month:

"The UK Government has demanded that Gab submit to their new censorship regime under the UK Online Safety Act, threatening massive fines (18 million euros or 10% of our annual revenue) for not policing speech.  We will not comply.  We will not pay one cent.  We will defend our UK users' right to speak freely and reject any law that compels censorship."

Any UK Gab users who want to maintain access to the site should perhaps think about using a VPN.  In fact VPNs are generally a vital tool in the fight for internet freedom.

Regarding the Online Safety Act, we should note that this dystopian law was initiated by the other side of the Uniparty.  The narrative for the implementation of this unjust legislation was driven by the murder of Tory MP David Amess in 2021, despite the fact he was murdered by a fanatic motivated by Islam - not online 'disinformation'.  The way in which the Amess murder was exploited to suppress totally unrelated online speech was cynical and should alarm anyone who is awake to the similar agenda currently being pushed surrounding a Netflix drama called Adolescence.

Keir Starmer has referred to said show as a 'documentary' that should be shown in schools.  We would suggest 1984 as a much more appropriate and educational tool at this point in time.

FAREWELL GAB

Following the despicable co-ordinated assault on free speech social network Parler in 2021, alternative platforms rose to prominence.  Our attention was drawn to Gab, quite possibly the most liberal site with regards to free speech.  The site was also easy to navigate, with a simple layout and a total lack of censorship.  Three years on and almost two thousand posts later, we have not experienced a single 'fact check' or a warning for our 'Gabs'.  Richey has gabbed off almost daily, despite amassing our smallest social media following on any site - we maxed out at 147 for the best part of 18 months, having tired of trying to persuade Facebook followers to join the network.

Last week Karl found that he could not attach one of his memes to a post and it soon became clear that Gab had decided to go down the subscription route.  This meant that we would have to pay ten dollars per month in order to post memes and videos to the site.  With 146 followers at that point, we quickly decided that our time with Gab should come to an end.  With thousands of articles and millions of hits, our priority has to be this website, for which we have to pay a fee each year and which we mostly pay out of our own pockets.

Our Gab profile page will remain online and you can view it here any time.  As we say farewell to Gab, we can now donate more time to another free speech platform - GETTR.

GAB GLITCH-FREE

As Mark Zuckerberg's empire continues its disappearing act from the internet, Gab is operating freely.  Gab is a social media site which does not censor speech, unlike all the left-wing tech giants based in Silicon Valley.  If you haven't joined yet, you can sign up here or click on the image below.

THE LEFT-WING CESSPIT

It is twelve months since we were both barred from Twitter over a tweet that Richey posted.  An appeal against the sanction was shelved indefinitely and therefore access to the account was off limits unless we cancelled the appeal.  It was a bitter pill to swallow, but the BTLP Twitter account has now been reactivated.  We did this, but not without a symbolic act of retribution.

WE'RE NOW ON GAB

With Parler offline thanks to the co-ordinated efforts of Silicon Valley and our Facebook pages under constant threat, we have now set up an account on another free speech app - Gab.  If you're already 'gabbing', please follow us here.  Apologies for the Corbyn wallpaper, this is temporary as Karl will begin working on new cover photos soon (including a long-awaited update for the top of binlabour.com).

It was never our intention to expand beyond our existing social media presence, but with both Twitter and Facebook continuing to censor our accounts, we have no choice but to keep our options open by exploring new avenues.  Gab was recommended by a number of BTLP followers.

On another good note, Parler's CEO reports progress in getting the site back up and running (see below).  The domain name is already back online with a holding page.
