TOON TUESDAY #53

After spending an entire day trawling through thousands of memes for our tenth anniversary, this week we are featuring some classic cartoons we've shared and/or tweaked over the last ten years.  Most of the artists we cannot credit, as these images have been sitting on Karl's laptop for a long time.  Feel free to leave a comment if you can name any.

ROSENA ALLIN-KILLJOY

Labour frontbencher Rosena Allin-Khan presents a fine example of why comedy is under pain of death from the intolerant left.  Earlier this week she shared a four second clip with her 206,800 Twitter followers showing part of an exchange between Tory MP Lee Anderson and perennial stalker Steve Bray aka 'Drunk Steve'.  In the clip Bray puts it to Anderson that the nickname '30p Lee' will stick, referring to recent remarks from the MP about the nation's cooking skills, to which Anderson replies: "Haven't you been sectioned yet?"

Of course this is banter, but Allin-Khan takes it upon herself to chastise the MP for his remark and demand an apology...

What Allin-Khan fails to acknowledge is that Bray has been harassing Anderson in the street for months.  She has also edited the clip (her version can be seen here), while the full version shows Bray following Anderson down the street calling him a lying Tory.  After Anderson's section remark, Bray responds likewise: "Why haven't you been sectioned?"

The unedited version can be seen below.

In spite of Bray's theatrics, Lee chooses to make a short video clip himself during this encounter, in which he expresses support for Boris Johnson.  Watch below.

One of the most popular replies to Allin-Khan's daft tweet was from her Labour colleague and GB News regular Paul Embery who wrote: "Don’t be silly.  That guy is a pain in the backside.  He can’t complain at being on the receiving end of a bit of banter".  Bray wasn't the one complaining, in fact after the exchange Bray has a smug grin on his face - he clearly enjoys the banter.  This is not how Allin-Khan wanted to portray events, instead trying to paint Anderson as a bully and claim offence on behalf of the mentally ill.  It's a shame there isn't a sense of humour injection that the MP/NHS doctor can give herself.

Meanwhile, Lee Anderson will continue to be harassed on an almost daily basis by Bray and his remoaner pals.  The Nottinghamshire MP (and former Labour councillor) will undoubtedly continue to give as good as he gets in these exchanges.  Here's a few more clips of the pair in action (there are many more to be found online) ...

It's not just Lee Anderson who gets the Bray treatment every time they leave the confines of Parliament by any means.  In one of the more disturbing incidents, Bray accosts Tory MP Paul Bristow while he is enjoying a pint in a beer garden.  Bristow tries to explain that he is having lunch with his wife and children, while Bray accuses him - without a hint of irony - of 'lounging around in a pub all day'.  As Bristow's wife arrives with a toddler in her arms, Bray agrees to leave the MP alone, but sneers menacingly 'it's a good job they were there'.  That clip can be seen here.

As long as Remainers continue to fund Bray's antics (and his thirst), it's clear that he will never return home to Port Talbot.  He is on too much of a good thing in London.  Why work for a living?

BOLES COMES CLEAN

Brexit-blocking Tory rebel Nick Boles has confirmed on Twitter that he voted Labour in today's local elections.  Not only that, but the three-times elected former Tory MP also claimed that he voted Labour in 1997, despite being elected as a Conservative councillor just one year later.  The revelation may raise a few eyebrows in Boles' former constituency of Grantham and Stamford, a Tory stronghold for which he was the MP between 2010 and 2019.

The left-wing New Statesman warned that his Labour endorsement 'should trouble the Tories', but the reality is quite the opposite.  Seeing the back of a woke progressive like Boles will stand the Tories in greater steed than their terrible recent record of embracing socialism.  Britain needs a conservative party, but an actual real conservative party - not the phonies we have now.

Boles resigned from the Conservatives during the Brexit impasse of 2019, after a vote in Parliament which failed to back a motion aimed at preventing Britain from leaving.  Boles sat for the remainder of his term as an 'Independent Progressive Conservative' and backed various anti-Brexit motions.  He did not contest his seat at the general election.

Since leaving office Boles has taken on senior roles with various progressive and globalist NGOs, including climate lobbyists Ecologi and pro-EU globalists the Henry Jackson Society and FMA.  All in all it's no great surprise to see someone like Boles come out for Labour or to see him enthusiastically retweeting Keir Starmer on polling day.  Good riddance!

A STEP TOO FAR FOR LOUDMOUTH COYLE

Labour backbencher Neil Coyle has been suspended from the Parliamentary Labour Party after he let his loud mouth get the better of him once again.  The latest controversy follows an allegation that he made racist remarks in the presence of a mixed race journalist.  Coyle, who represents Bermondsey and Old Southwark, has also been banned from all parliamentary bars following a separate incident in which he is alleged to have screamed obscenities at a Labour staffer and a Tory MP.

Henry Dyer (pictured above right), 24, is of half Chinese descent and reported Coyle to the Speaker following the clash that he says took place at Strangers' Bar in Westminster on Tuesday 1 February.  Dyer was with two other journalists when Coyle approached and began discussing various topics including recent revelations regarding Labour MP Barry Gardiner's involvement with a Chinese spy.  Coyle is initially accused of saying that Gardiner had been paid by 'Fu Manchu', referencing the 20th century Chinese supervillain.  Dyer took umbrage at the remark, pointing out that he was of Chinese descent, to which Coyle is then said to have remarked: "From how you look like, you've been giving renminbi [Chinese currency] to Barry Gardiner".

Coyle is then alleged to have made an obscene two fingered gesture towards Dyer when he left the bar.

Coyle had caused another scene in the same bar the previous evening, having allegedly shouted obscenities at both a Labour staffer and a Tory MP who intervened.  He is reported to have shouted 'F*** you! What are the benefits of Brexit?' at the staffer - Coyle is a staunch Remainer - before telling the unnamed Tory MP to 'F*** off and lose some weight'.  The Southwark News reports that the staffer had suggested that Brexit had 'not been a disaster for the UK'.

The Speaker has now banned Coyle from all bars on the parliamentary estate for six months.  The Labour whip has been suspended pending an investigation into his remarks towards Dyer.

Neil Coyle is renowned for expressing strong opinions and has repeatedly made disparaging remarks about Brexit voters, leading to many deleted tweets and empty apologies.  He is very vocal on Twitter and frequently clashes with his own Labour comrades, particularly those on the hard left.

MILLER HUMILIATES HERSELF

Earlier this week Gina Miller became the latest remoaner to launch a political party.  Gina's 'True & Fair' party follows in the footsteps of other Remain failures such as the now defunct Change UK and hapless Rejoin EU Party (which only has two policies).  As an increasing number of Remain voters choose to get on with their lives and accept UK independence, enthusiasm for rejoining the EU fades.  It is only rabid EU fanatics such as Miller and Labour's Lord Adonis who persist with fantasies about rejoining the bloc.

As a prime example of how detached from reality they are, earlier this week Adonis tweeted: "If Boris goes, Brexit goes".  Those who have followed the musings of the loony lord in recent years won't be surprised by that outlandish tweet.

Gina Miller made a name for herself in the aftermath of the Leave mandate, but she is now nothing more than a broken record, an establishment fad that passed.  Hence the total embarrassment of her party launch - just 13 people turned up.  Journalist Noa Hoffman covered the launch in a hilarious Twitter thread, which included a video of the sparse reception (see below).

Hoffman reports that Gina's press conference ended after just three questions from the assembled journalists, but at least they all got a free mug and a baseball cap.  Miller clearly overestimated her pulling power, but the reality is that her Brexit-blocking antics are now but a distant memory.  She may have hoped to capitalise on public disillusionment with establishment politics, but this privately-educated globalist millionaire just about epitomises the establishment.

Oh, and one more thing Gina.  'Our democracy' does not include the Irish Republic.  Your website should at least get the basics right.

REMAINERS' COPY AND PASTE JOB

Remainers are in no doubt whatsoever.  Whether it be the media-sponsored petrol crisis, Europe-wide rising gas prices or supply chain issues - Brexit is solely to blame.  Facts don't seem to matter to these people.

For months they have complained of 'food shortages', occasionally sharing a photograph of some empty shelves on their social media accounts.  One such photo recently shared on Twitter carries a desperate message that the supermarket had run out of pasta.  Oh, the horror.  However, we have found the same image in other posts too, and they carry exactly the same message - word for word.

Bartmann's tweet was shared more than 600 times on Twitter, but it is not clear if the photograph is actually his, or when it was actually taken.  Two days later another user took the same photo and attached the exact same message, despite the fact that her Twitter profile states that she lives in Manchester!

Later that same day the tweet popped up again, this time from an account using the name of failed Remain party Change UK.

A day later the photo surfaced yet again thanks to a parody account that takes delight in mocking Remainers.  At least the Brexiteer bothered to change the wording slightly.

As it turns out there really is a shortage of pasta, but it is neither unique to Britain nor has any roots in Brexit.  A poor harvest of durum, caused by dry weather in Canada and Europe, is behind the shortage and rising prices.  In short, absolutely nothing to do with Brexit.

ALLIN-KHAN'S BREXIT LIES

Remainers are still trying to convince themselves that every single ill that befalls post-Brexit Britain is down to our departure from the EU.  Some will even outright lie about it, including Labour frontbencher Rosena Allin-Khan.

On Sunday morning Allin-Khan tweeted a short clip of Andrew Marr interviewing the PM in which the presenter says there are no issues on petrol forecourts across the EU.  Of course there isn't, because mainstream media on the continent hasn't encouraged moronic behaviour on the forecourts.  Allin-Khan says there are no 'petrol shortages' in the EU, implying that are petrol shortages here - which there isn't.  What happened in the UK over the last week was a supply and demand issue sparked by irresponsible media reporting and a lack of common sense among the British public.  There is - and never was - a shortage of petrol in the UK.

Ironically, one of the only areas still thought to be affected by supply issues is the metropolitan Remain heartland of London.  It's almost as if self-centered middle class remoaners have bled the pumps dry and created the very problem they now blame on Brexit.

There also seems to be some disparity between what Remainers are describing in supermarkets and the situation north of Watford.  Allin-Khan suggests that supermarket shelves are empty here, which is not what most British people find when they do their grocery shop.  Her assertion that supermarket shelves 'aren't empty' in Europe is also a downright fib.

Photos of empty shelves in Brussels went viral last week and France is also experiencing shortages.  There are also shortages of lorry drivers across many EU countries, including Poland, Germany and Ireland.

Remainers want to paint a very selective picture from their metropolitan bunkers.

TURNER'S HUNT FOR EMPTY SHELVES

Remoaner Labour MP Karl Turner came unstuck this week after tweeting a photo showing empty supermarket shelves.  Remainers have been trending on Twitter all week with accusations that Brexit is behind a shortage of lorry drivers and claiming that supermarket shelves are bare.

Unfortunately for Karl, eagle-eyed Twitter users clocked that the photo was from last year's panic-buying spree ahead of the first Covid lockdown.

When Twitter users rumbled the Hull MP and accused him of perpetuating fake news, Turner took off to his local Asda in an attempt to show them the real thing.  In a barely literate tweet, Turner attached three photographs showing a grand total of seven empty shelves.

Hardly the apocalyptic scene from his original tweet!  Furthermore, we will never know if this was the first supermarket he had visited or whether he had spent hours trawling across various Hull supermarkets to try and find proof of the elusive Brexit apocalypse.

In a final humiliating blow to Turner's self esteem, Asda themselves then got in touch with the MP...

Brutal.

Last month Turner's colleague Chris Bryant was forced to apologise after he tweeted a doctored image of empty shelves plastered with messages labelling Brexit voters 'thick twats' who 'probably voted Conservative too'.  However, Bryant's apology only related to the use of foul language and not the general message itself.

Shouldn't the bitterness of Remainers be receding by now?  It's been five years!

FIVE YEARS ON: A LOOK BACK

In 2016 Bin The Labour Party was still relatively young, but it was an incredibly momentous year and our pro-Leave Brexit stance was crucial to our growth which, at that time, was limited to Facebook.  Karl has looked back over some of the memes around that time and rejigged a few to our current standards.  The following memes were all, to the best of our knowledge, BTLP originals from between 2016 and 2018.
