WOKE WEDNESDAYS #3

Nottingham Building Society was founded by a Quaker in 1849 and has used local legend Robin Hood as part of its branding since the 1980s.  Not any more.  He has fallen victim to the globalist DEI agenda.

The Nottingham has decided to drop Robin from its logo because he is not 'inclusive'.  You see, a major organisation cannot possibly associate itself with a white male heterosexual in this woke day and age - even one who appears to be the perfect companion for a communist agenda, namely one who takes from the bourgeoisie and redistributes their wealth to the proletariat.

Race trumps ideology in this instance and Robin has been binned in favour of a black squiggle, which appears to be a black bow that forms the vague shape of a letter 'N'.  What does the bow represent?  No idea, but a black bow usually represents mourning.  Perhaps it is their final 'fuck you' to hordes of customers who are miffed, confused and angry with the rebrand.

Like so many businesses and organisations, the furore and resulting losses appear to be an acceptable cost in order to push the communist agenda favoured by globalists.

Last week's climate meme generated 115 comments and 48 shares on Facebook.

THE SORRY STORY OF NADIA'S RISHI TWEET

The far left's reaction to Britain's first Asian PM was predictable.  'He's a Tory, so he ain't really Asian' was very much the order of the day, echoing Joe Biden when he famously said black voters 'ain't black' if they don't vote for him.  The left think they own minority voters, a culture that they have fostered for decades and alluded to by Malcolm X way back in the 1960s.

Labour's Nadia Whittome has been one of the most prominent critics of Sunak's ethnic background this week, heralding his appointment as not 'a win for Asian representation'.  One of the reasons she proposed for this was that he is a 'multi-millionaire'.  It's twisted logic.  Sunak is a a man whose immigrant parents sought the best education for him and in just six years he rose from backbench MP to PM.  That's something to be proud of whatever your background, but here's the thing - Whittome's life is not so different from the man she berates.

She is descended from Indian immigrants like Sunak.  She too was privately educated before heading off to university and then entering politics - just like Sunak.  She is not a multi-millionaire yet, but as the youngest MP in the Commons, there's plenty of time for her to amass the millions of, say, her hero Jeremy Corbyn.  You see, being a multi-millionaire is perfectly acceptable as long you're not a Tory.

In Nadia's tweet she also critiques Rishi's tumultuous time as chancellor, accusing him of 'overseeing the biggest drop in living standards since 1956'.  Yes, yes, because of all those hideous lockdown policies and the pursuit of net zero etc, right?  All policies that you voted for?  Yes, Nadia's tweet stinks to the rafters of hypocrisy.

Care to search for this tweet?  It's not there any more.  She was told to delete it and it duly disappeared some time between Tuesday and Wednesday, not before it was captured for eternity by Twitter users and media outlets.  The internet remembers.

Who told Whittome to delete the tweet is not clear, but one thing is for sure - her spineless party leader is not prepared to own up to it, presumably fearing a backlash from her far left comrades.  He was asked twice about it on Sky News, but avoided the question (watch the clip below).

It's fair to say that the squirming and evasive response of Starmer shows that the far left still have some serious sway in the party and he is afraid to take them on.  As for Nadia, she's now pinned another tweet to the top of her Twitter profile - bemoaning the PM's wealth, but not his ethnic background.

This girl has surrounded herself with spiteful, like-minded leftists who are so short-sighted that they wouldn't know a double standard if it rocked up from gentrified Islington clutching a manifesto for 'the few'.

Long may she continue to dig a hole for herself and her socialist chums.

STELLA'S AFTERNOON OF DEPRAVITY

Labour backbencher Stella Creasy has captured the limelight once again with a stomach-churning tweet.  On Monday evening she posted a series of pictures to her Twitter account appearing to show her toddler being exposed to a 'drag queen'.  This was during a 'drag queen story hour' that took place in her Walthamstow constituency.  Such practices are inspired by similar events that have taken place in the US over the last few years.  Fellow Labour MP Nadia Whittome responded: "This is so wholesome".

So there we have it - exposing young children to such depravity is considered by the left to be 'wholesome'.

Of course this should come as no great surprise to anyone who follows the West's descent into debauchery.  On Friday the Stonewall organisation tweeted an article by the Metro in which an anonymous correspondent writes about her four-year-old daughter - who apparently insists that she's a boy.  The author eventually explains that she is a 'trans man' and complains that the nursery school to which she sends her child does not respect her daughter's self-identity and that trans ideology should be taught in 'every school'.  It's surely no coincidence that the daughter of a 'trans man' also insists that she is a male.

This is what we call grooming.

Stonewall not only agreed with this anonymous individual, but they referred to 'research' that suggested two-year-olds can 'recognise their trans identity'.  Hmm.  At two years of age toddlers are still learning to speak and learn not to shit in their pants, but here is a taxpayer-funded organisation claiming that they can embrace gender-bending ideology.

Why does Stonewall want to teach toddlers about trans ideology?

This is what's called grooming.

According to a freedom of information request obtained by the Taxpayers' Alliance last year, Stonewall is funded to the tune of over one million pounds each year by 327 public bodies - including the UK Foreign Office, the governments of Scotland and Wales, the National Lottery, Comic Relief, 86 universities and 58 health service organisations.

Surely now this organisation must be defunded?  To do otherwise can only be an expression of support for its twisted aims.

Perhaps Liz Truss can be pushed about her department's funding of Stonewall at forthcoming leadership hustings?  As for Stella Creasy, Whittome, Starmer and co, we know where their bread is buttered, but how will their Muslim constituents feel about this direction of travel?

If there is anything remotely positive about Creasy's tweet, it is the absence of other children in the photos.  Would it be too much to hope that she was alone in dragging her toddler to this event?  The event was advertised by the William Morris Gallery as a 'family event' with free admittance.  They have not published any further details about it since it took place.  Please note that the Twitter account tagged by Stella Creasy in her tweet is not the Twitter account of the William Morris Gallery, but an independent black artist based in Pittsburgh.  This is an error on her part, the real William Morris account can be found here.

NADIA'S BACK!

The member for Nottingham East has announced her return to work after being off sick since May with what she described as 'post-traumatic stress disorder'.  It's still not clear what brought on the shell shock, but Nadia Whittome was positively radiant in her comeback announcement.  During the two minute video (see below) she referred to casework that had been dealt with by her team while she'd been off, highlighting four categories:

1) "Helping families in overcrowded housing"

2) "Stopping two deportations"

3) "Ensuring people are receiving the money they're entitled to"

4) "Assisting those with relatives in Afghanistan"

As with Barry Gardiner's Afghan-only surgeries in Brent, it appears that Whittome's focus is also very much on helping her non-British constituents.  Shameless.

It's also worth noting Whittome's personal gratitude to Keir Starmer, something that won't play too well with her far left comrades.  Starmer retweeted her video and said: "We're all delighted to have you back, Nadia".  The Labour leader was then bombarded with angry comments from the left reminding him that it was barely twelve months since he sacked Whittome from the front bench while she was live on Peston.

The Commons returns on Monday after the summer recess with fresh tyranny on the agenda, including domestic vaccine passports and the renewal of the Coronavirus Act.  The so-called 'opposition' will presumably support both.

WHITTOME GOES OFF SICK

Nadia Whittome is to take time off work for mental health reasons.  The far left MP for Nottingham East released a statement this morning, naming post-traumatic stress disorder as the main reason.  PTSD is normally associated with Armed Forces veterans and was referred to as 'shell shock' in survivors of World War I trenches.  In her statement (see below) Whittome doesn't expand on what 'traumatic stress' she has gone through, but some critics have pointed to her status as 'Baby of the House' as a potential factor.

Elected at 23 years old in 2019, Whittome is currently the youngest Member of Parliament.  She was notably absent from the most recent pro-Palestine/anti-Israeli protests over the weekend.

Whittome's humble thanks to Keir Starmer will have raised a few eyebrows, given that the Socialist Campaign Group to which she belongs has been engaged in a war of attrition since the Labour leader stripped Jeremy Corbyn of the party whip.

Corbyn was among the first to lend his support to Whittome and attempted to get #StandWithNadia trending on Twitter.  It hasn't, in fact there were less than two dozen tweets containing that hashtag at the time of writing.  It is also interesting to note how few of Whittome's colleagues have expressed support.  Of her far left Parliamentary comrades only Mary Foy, Kate Osamor and Kate Osborne followed Corbyn in posting a public message of support on Twitter.  Does this denote how little is felt about Whittome on a personal level, how mental illness is perceived or how they feel about her gratitude to Starmer?

WHITTOME REFUSES TO CONDEMN RIOTERS

Despite covering up for BLM last year, the media appears to be unable or unwilling to do the same this time.  A dozen burning police vehicles is probably a bit too much to pass off as a 'peaceful protest' even for the BBC.  Therefore, Politics Live host Jo Coburn was visibly exasperated by the response of Labour's Nadia Whittome to the violence.  Whittome point blank refused to condemn the rioters after multiple opportunities to do so.  There's no surprise there, the Corbyn loyalist has form when it comes to backing violent insurrection.  In response to the toppling of the Colston statue (also in Bristol) last year the Nottingham MP tweeted: "I celebrate these acts of resistance".

Amid the backlash against Whittome, Mail on Sunday columnist Dan Hodges suggested that Starmer should withdraw the whip.  Hodges is the son of ex-Labour MP Glenda Jackson, but quit the party after Corbyn was elected leader.

5pm has since come and gone.  She's still a Labour MP, sorry Dan.

BLACK PEOPLE 'NOT TOKENS'

Lyle Taylor, the footballer who refuses to take the knee, has spoken out again against the Black Lives Matter movement.  Speaking to LBC's Nick Ferrari on Friday, the Forest striker quite rightly assessed that BLM were seeking to exploit racial tensions in order to achieve their Marxist aims.  He also asked why multi-national corporations were still plugging BLM in spite of all the violence and negative impact on race relations the organisation continues to sow.

Taylor's stance has not surprisingly resulted in abuse directed his way from BLM supporters.  The mixed-race Londoner says he has been called an 'Uncle Tom' and even a 'racist'.  However, he has been joined recently by another footballer who rejects the knee gesture.  Crystal Palace winger Wilfried Zaha, who is black, says he finds it 'degrading' and will no longer participate.

FOOTBALLER MAKES A STAND

The 'taking of the knee' in support of Black Lives Matter is a phenomenon that still bizarrely takes place across several sports, eight months on from the death of the career criminal George Floyd.  Of course one of the reasons that the authorities have been allowed to get away with this for so long is the absence of sports fans.

When fans briefly returned to a handful of football matches in December, it came as a surprise to only the woke metropolitan elite that the knee gesture was booed.  Initially the media tried to scapegoat Millwall fans and thereby portray it as an isolated incident.  However, we know that fans at Cambridge United, Colchester United and West Ham United also heckled as players dropped to their knees.  Imagine the chorus of disapproval if fans had been allowed back across the more working class areas of the north and Midlands too?

Now that fans are once more banished from the stands, the custom appears set to continue indefinitely.  Many of us have been repulsed by this cultish act and have marveled from our living rooms that not one player has taken a stand.  While it's probably true that your average footballer does not possess the intellect to comprehend the dangers of Marxism, or the courage to potentially sacrifice their career and be vilified on social media, for thousands of them to routinely drop to their knees without a single act of dissent is reminiscent of the type of propaganda-driven mass hysteria that brought the likes of Lenin and Hitler to power.

That has now changed thanks to the principled action of one player.

Despite having previously taken the knee before matches, Nottingham Forest striker Lyle Taylor recently decided that enough was enough.  Not only that, but when he was questioned by a BBC reporter he gave a measured and very insightful statement as to why he opposed the Black Lives Matter organisation: "My support for what it is we are trying to achieve is absolute, but I do not support Black Lives Matter as an institution, as an organisation.  I’d request anyone who blindly supports Black Lives Matter to have a look to what that organisation does and what it stands for, because it’s scandalous the fact that the whole world and the whole world’s media got behind Black Lives Matter".  He went on to name the BBC and Sky specifically.

It's worth noting that the sports reporter in question asked Taylor about BLM before he asked a single question about the match, in which Taylor had scored a stunning winning goal.

Taylor has form for criticising Marxists.  Before last year's general election he called out Jeremy Corbyn and then became embroiled in several Twitter spats with Corbynistas, one of whom said that they looked forward to December 13th when 'John McDonnell personally comes round to your house and takes away your Range Rover'.  Click here for our previous article on Lyle's online exploits.

Londoner Taylor is currently Forest's top scorer and reportedly has the support of his boss Chris Hughton for exercising his right not to take the knee.  Like Taylor, Hughton is mixed race, so perhaps shielded from the accusations of racism that would have undoubtedly been fired the way of a white player who rebelled against the cult.  It remains to be seen as to whether anyone has the guts to follow Lyle Taylor's lead.

Labour's Nadia Whittome used an appearance on the BBC's Politics Live last week to inform viewers that local outbreaks of coronavirus could be blamed on people being forced back to work in poor conditions.  The hard left MP was using the traditional communist tactic of whipping up workers against bosses and blaming capitalism for virus spikes in places like Leicester.  In actual fact some sweatshops in Leicester have been operating throughout the national lockdown, as reported in the Sunday Telegraph.  So why the surge now?  Perhaps it's just a coincidence, but a few weeks ago up to 4,000 people crammed into Leicester city centre for a Black Lives Matter demo.  Of course Nadia would never suggest that could be a source.  As we know only too well - BLM protesters are magically both immune to the virus and immune from criticism.

HARRY POTTER AND THE HARD LEFT

One of Corbyn's new hard left MPs appeared on Robert Peston's show this week and gave a rather cringeworthy account of herself as she likened Westminster to the world of Harry Potter...

Perhaps Nadia was just showing her age, after-all she is the new 'baby of the House'.  At the age of 23 she has succeeded the SNP's Mhairi Black as the holder of the title.  Whittome has admirably pledged to donate more than half her salary to charity, but we know only too well that MPs say one thing prior to their election and then once on the gravy train it's another matter.  The aforementioned Mhairi Black suggested prior to the 2017 election that she would stand down at the next election.  She not only stood again, she was re-elected a second time last month!  Pigs at the trough indeed.

LABOUR SELECTION CHAOS

Labour selections and reselections are currently taking place across the country for the general election that Labour is desperately trying to block.  It sounds bizarre, but then this is Labour.  In the last two days police have been called to two separate selection meetings, for Nottingham East and Poplar & Limehouse.  The ballot paper for both seats was dominated by Muslim candidates and both winning candidates are dead certs to hold these safe Labour seats.

The Poplar selection took place in the banana republic of Tower Hamlets amid chaotic scenes.  Photo ID was required to get into the meeting, but this hurdle did not appear to 'disenfranchise' those attending (more Labour hypocrisy) as more than 500 mostly Muslim men crammed into the meeting hall.  Laughably, these all-female shortlists were supposed to be about equality, yet the turnout at this meeting reflected nothing of the sort.  The winning candidate congratulated "strong BAME women" for the campaign and then posed for a photo in which you can count the women present on one hand.  There was no mention of the LGBT candidate, funny that.

We know how her supporters want to "transform society" and "seize it".  The second paragraph is clearly aimed at her supporters (or dare we say, handlers).  When she speaks of "radicalism" she is not necessarily referring to socialism.  So much for feminism.  This is the future of our nation under a Labour direction.
