WINSTON'S TRANS TRUTH BOMB

Professor Robert Winston faces a deluge of hate today following his appearance on the BBC's Question Time last night.  Lord Winston, a Labour peer, sat on a panel that included Labour colleague Alison McGovern.  One audience member put to the panel a question regarding free speech and the case of philosophy professor Kathleen Stock, who is currently facing a hate campaign from trans activists at Sussex University.  For the 'crime' of speaking out in defence of women's gender rights, students are campaigning to have her sacked from her role at the university.

Following on from her leader's pathetic pandering to the trans lobby, frontbencher McGovern defended the rights of trans people to identify as they see fit.  It seems that feminism in the Labour Party is dead and buried.  However, when the question was posed to Professor Winston he warned host Fiona Bruce that he was about to say something that the producers may want to cut from the programme.  His highly 'controversial' response was to state a matter of fact: "You cannot change your sex".

The woke lefties and trans bullies crying 'transphobe' and declaring that Winston is wrong don't need to study biology for decades to know they are the ones who are mistaken.  They just need to grow up.

BACKLASH OVER STARMER'S SUN PIECE

Keir Starmer's decision to write an article for The Sun newspaper over the weekend has gone down like a lead balloon with many of his MPs.  Merseyside MPs have been particularly scathing, as have Liverpool mayors Joanne Anderson and Steve Rotheram.  Even frontbenchers such as Mike Amesbury, Bill Esterson and Alison McGovern have publicly lashed out.

Note that Amesbury, the shadow housing minister, cannot even spell the first name of his party leader...

Far left Labour MPs have also been heavily critical - no great surprise there.  Among them was Diane Abbott who issued a couple of tweets and appeared to suggest that Starmer had broken a pledge not to speak to The Sun.  However, what Starmer had said during his leadership campaign in January 2020 was: "I certainly won’t be giving any interviews to The Sun during the course of this campaign."  There was no pledge beyond that.

In direct response to Abbott's complaints, The Sun brutally reminded her that she had herself written for the newspaper during her 2010 leadership campaign.  She had also posed in a Sun-branded taxi.

Starmer is not the first Labour leader to have embraced The Sun newspaper, usually referred to by Scousers as 'The S*n' or 'The Scum' after it cast aspersions on Liverpool fans in the wake of the Hillsborough disaster.  Ed Miliband posed with an edition of the newspaper in 2014 and faced such a backlash that he later issued an apology.  One Labour councillor in Liverpool resigned in protest.

VINE SLAMS WALLPAPER STUNT

Labour moderate Alison McGovern has been grilled by Jeremy Vine over Labour's election disaster.  In somewhat uncharacteristically aggressive mode, Vine lambasted Starmer's 'pathetic' wallpaper stunt.  

Vine began by asking her the deliberately provocative question of whether Labour should invite Jeremy Corbyn back to the leadership.  McGovern was very careful not to criticise Corbyn, unlike some of her comrades, in particular Peter Mandelson who was scathing about Corbyn earlier today.

CORBYN HUMILIATED BY STELLA

When Diane Abbott stood up in the Commons and gave her speech in defence of Julian Assange, there was no mention of the Swedish rape allegation.  Not once.  Jeremy Corbyn had also been quiet about the alleged rape, but not any more.  They have now both been forced to address the Swedish issue in a humiliating climb down, orchestrated by none other than their own back bench MPs.

A letter urging the Home Secretary to ensure the extradition of Assange to Sweden was penned by Walthamstow MP Stella Creasy and signed by more than 70 cross-party MPs and peers.  The signatories to the letter reads like a who's who of Corbyn critics, both inside and outside the party.  All 11 Change UK members signed it.  Tom Watson's girlfriend Stephanie Peacock was also a signatory.  Crafty.  It's doubtful this letter was so much about the alleged victims of Assange as it was about undermining Corbyn.  The letter and its signatories can be viewed by clicking on the images below.

It's funny how any critic of Corbyn is somehow in the pay of the Israelis.  They must be very rich, where's our bung?

2-4-6-8 IT'S NOT A SPLIT

The will-they-won't-they saga continues.  Various news outlets are now putting figures on how many Labour MPs will quit.  The Daily Mail says 'up to ten', the Express 'eight' and the Guardian says 'six or more'.  They all agree the 'split' is 'imminent', although none can agree on when it will happen.  The Mail claimed it might happen on Friday, the Express says it may happen on Monday.  ITV are very specific and claim it 'may' happen on the 27th of Feb.

Give us a break!  Whether or not these half a dozen(ish) MPs walk out and form their own Remain party, it is hardly a split.

If we take the upper estimate of ten quitters - that's less than 4 per cent of the Parliamentary Labour party and would give the new party less MPs than the Liberal Democrats.  The Lib Dems have their origins in an earlier Labour split, but their current pathetic Parliamentary numbers should be fair warning for anyone trying to set up a new party, let alone something that could possibly challenge the two-party monopoly.  If Chuka and co are serious about prolonging their Parliamentary careers why don't they just join the referendum-ignoring Lib Dems?  After all that is their game - trying to overturn the referendum result.

Whatever happens, whenever it happens, or if it doesn't happen at all (good chance of the latter) - it's hardly a split.
