"NAB THE BASTARDS"

Cllr Susanna Pressel hates British flags

The left have some sinister priorities when it comes to policing.  This was exemplified recently by a Labour councillor in Oxford, who made it abundantly clear that she would like her local plod to target people who commit the heinous 'crime' of hanging flags from lamp posts!  In leaked audio from an internal council meeting, Cllr Susanna Pressel asks if police can trace the culprits through social media or, failing that, lie in wait and 'nab the bastards'.  "That's the sort of thing I would like to see from the police", she added.

She went on to describe flags placed outside the council building as 'appalling'.

Of course she was referring to her own national flags, which only the left appear to find abhorrent.  One wonders if she would feel the same way if local Muslims were erecting Pakistani or Palestinian flags?  Highly doubtful.  Oxford was the base for some of the most appalling Muslim rape gangs and with key members of one gang released early last year, there is little doubt that such activity is ongoing.  Cllr Pressel has served on the council for a whopping 32 years, during which time it's a safe bet she has not asked the police to 'lie in wait' for the gang rapists.

What about street theft and burglaries?  Violent crime?  All three categories are on the rise in Oxford, but Cllr Pressel thinks police time should be dedicated to 'catching' people erecting British flags on British streets.

Listen to her outburst below.

There has been a very fitting response to Cllr Pressel's remarks, very similar to that which met football commentator Gary Neville's own denunciation of the colours.  Activists have erected flags in the street where she lives!

If Pressel had any sense, she would have toned down the rhetoric after that, but instead she has complained that her neighbours are 'incensed'.  What she actually means is that she is incensed, as her intolerance to the flags is already well known.  Not all of her neighbours will share that hatred towards this country and our flag - if any at all.

She added: "I also hear complaints from a very large number of people who find the flags intimidating and, in fact, racist".  A very large number of people, or just one or two comments on social media?  The bottom of a barrel can be heard being scraped.  The only people who could possibly regard our own national flag 'racist' are treacherous leftist buffoons like Pressel.

Oxfordshire County Council has reportedly somehow spent £15,000 removing flags from lamp posts up to this point.  That is a colossal waste of taxpayers' money that could easily have been saved by simply leaving the flags where they are.

JUST STOP OIL: THE USEFUL IDIOTS

Recent footage of police officers jumping in to defend Just Stop Oil extremists begs the question: Who is giving the orders?  Richey discusses the phenomenon and the bigger picture in our latest YouTube video, watch below.

COUNCIL BY-ELECTIONS 29.09.22

Eight seats were up for grabs this week up and down the mainland.  In Scotland there was a free-for-all on the west coast following the death of an independent.  Another independent surged to victory, overtaking the SNP and defeating them all the way to the final stage.  Labour were eliminated on first preference votes, finishing a humiliating last place with just 55 votes.  Scotland uses a different voting method to the rest of the UK - the single transferable vote in which voters rank the candidates in order of preference.

In England and Wales there were holds for the Lib Dems (three seats), the Conservatives (two), Labour and Plaid (one each).  The only change of hands was a Labour gain from the Conservatives in Nottinghamshire where a head-to-head battle dramatically turned on its head in favour of red.

There were no absentees in this week's by-elections.  If the opinion polls are to be believed then there will be no need for a 'progressive alliance' at the next election.  Labour are a shoo-in, apparently.  However, while the Tory vote was down in seven of eight of this week's by-elections, Labour's vote was down in five.  The electorate are clearly still not sure about the wooden man of no policies.

COUNCILLOR SUSPENDED OVER PRIVATE JAB

A councillor has had the Labour whip removed after she boasted of receiving a Covid vaccination privately.  Cllr Jamila Azad posted several photos on her Facebook page showing herself receiving the jab alongside a young woman who is thought to be her daughter.  Private jabs for coronavirus are currently illegal in the UK.

The post has since been deleted, but not before it was screen-captured and distributed online.

Cllr Azad serves on both Oxford City Council and Oxfordshire County Council.  The Labour groups leaders on both those councils released the following statement: "Following a recent post on her Facebook account about her Covid-19 vaccination, Councillor Jamila Azad has been suspended by the whips of both the Oxfordshire County Council and Oxford City Council Labour groups, pending further investigation".

THE HARASSMENT OF HITCHENS

Peter Hitchens watches as protesters 'take the knee' at Oxford University

Mail On Sunday columnist Peter Hitchens has been keeping a close eye on events in Oxford.  The campaign to bring down the statue of Cecil Rhodes from the Oriel College building was reignited recently after the mob tore down the Colston statue in Bristol.  A protest was organised the very next day and Peter Hitchens was there to observe.  A photograph of him standing while the protesters 'took the knee' made him an instant target.

He was back in Oxford again on Tuesday as the protesters marched again.  This time they singled him out and gave him the loudspeaker treatment.  The following video was posted online yesterday showing Hitchens being followed by the mob while they chant "Peter Hitchens has to go".

The person who posted the video made several outlandish claims about Hitchens, saying he was there to "goad the protesters" and was spouting "racist shit".  Aaron Gabriel, who describes himself as a 'professional trans person', said he asked Hitchens to leave as "his presence was upsetting".  Gabriel's assessment that the protesters made Hitchens "look so small and insignificant" is clearly not what most people see in the video.  The way in which the journalist strolls so nonchalantly and carefree as the mob follow him and chant his name shows a man of great integrity.  He looks ten feet tall, stoic and effortlessly dignified.  Hitchens even defended many of the protesters in a tweet, saying: "Most of the crowd were very good-natured.  I had interesting conversations with several of them".  Big man.

Conversely, once he obtains his PhD in French philosophy, Hitchens' antagonist Aaron Gabriel will clearly go far in life!

The political journey of Peter Hitchens is yet another example that bodes well for the future.  He was himself once on the left and briefly a member of the Labour Party in the 1970s.  It's highly doubtful that many of those trying to intimidate him will be quite as Marxist-oriented by the time they get to his age.  Once they have departed the hard left arena of further education and spent a few years in the real world, they will begin to learn that the doctrine they currently promote spells disaster in practice.

LOCAL ROUND UP

While the national party continues to be hit by scandal after scandal, the local scene in parts of the country is not faring much better.  No MPs have quit the party this month, but there are plenty of key activists and councillors heading for the exit.

Carmarthenshire is the scene of the biggest number of resignations so far this week.  Five county councillors quit the party on Wednesday and will now serve as Independents.  Cllr Jeff Edmunds blamed a culture of "bullying and harrassment" for the joint decision.  Funnily enough the same language has been used in a string of resignations elsewhere around the country, including Salford, Merseyside and Sussex.  Also typical is the response from the local party.  Carmarthenshire Labour group leader Cllr Rob James denounced his former colleagues and accused Cllr Edmunds of having a "less than 25%" attendance record.  Straight out of the Owen Jones school for smearing anyone who leaves the cult!

A further four town councillors in Llanelli also quit on the same day, including the group leader Cllr Shahana Najmi.

In Gloucester it was 2017 Parliamentary candidate Barry Kirby who chose to ditch the party on Wednesday.  In his resignation letter he pointed to an increase in "bullying" as one of the reasons for his departure.  Do we see a pattern emerging here?  He also highlighted anti-Semitism and a "cult-like fanatical nature" surrounding Jeremy Corbyn.

Today it was announced that three Sandwell councillors have been deselected by Labour ahead of forthcoming local elections.  These include the mayor and deputy mayor, and brings to four the total of deselections in the borough (curiously, all women councillors).  This follows the mysterious suspension of the leader of Sandwell Council, Steve Eling, last month.  Having now resigned from the party, Eling claims that the deselections are a plot to undermine local MP Tom Watson, who has been highly critical of Corbyn recently.

On Tuesday the deputy lord mayor of Oxford was handed a 28 day domestic violence protection order.  Cllr Sajjad Malik has been a city councillor since 2004, but has now been suspended by the Labour party.  The protection order prohibits Cllr Malik from coming within 50 metres of an address in the city.

On Monday Wirral councillor Jo Bird was suspended by Labour after she mocked the party's handling of alleged anti-Semitism.  She told a meeting of her concern that anti-Semitism was being prioritised over other forms of racism and dubbed the party's disciplinary procedures "Jew process".

MEME FOR THE DAY 07/09/18

This story was doing the rounds on BBC News most of the day.  The term "class war" was used widely by the media.  Nowhere can be found the great irony - Oxford City Council is run by Labour and there is not a single Tory seat!
