The nanny state continued its assault on our freedom this past week, testing the water with talk of an expansion to the smoking ban imposed by the last Labour government.  The establishment just cannot close down our pubs quickly enough!

Starmer also deployed the dreaded 'reset' word this week, with regards to our relationship with Europe.  He tried to assure democrats that Brexit was not under threat, but this was coming from a man who spent three years trying to overturn the Leave mandate and led Corbyn up the garden path to electoral oblivion in the process (and then promptly ejected him from the party after succeeding him as leader).

A discarded painting, raving Rayner, phoney feminist agenda and Notting Hill carnage* were also featured in Karl's latest memes.

WEST YORKS GROOMING CHARGES

42 people have been charged by West Yorkshire Police in connection with a grooming gang that operated in Batley and Dewsbury over a twenty year period.  The alleged offences took place between 1995 and 2015 and relate to six female victims who were children at the time.

18 of the accused are from Dewsbury, 15 from Batley, four from Heckmondwike, two from Bradford and one each from Birmingham, Keighley and Mirfield.  39 appear to be Muslim males and are each charged with at least one count of rape.  The other three are non-Muslim females who have each been charged with various offences including allowing premises to be used for the rape of minors.

Those charged are as follows.

Mohammed Abbas, 60, from Dewsbury.  Charged with rape.

Liaquat Ali, 65, from Batley.  Charged with rape.

Zulfiquar Ali, 42, from Dewsbury.  Charged with rape.

Aurrangzeb Azam, 50, from Dewsbury.  Charged with three offences of rape, two offences of indecent assault and an offence of false imprisonment.

Tariq Azam, 52, from Dewsbury.  Charged with three offences of rape and three offences of indecent assault.

Nasir Billimoria, 68, from Batley.  Charged with rape and procuring a female under 21.

Mohammed Luqman Daji, 44, from Dewsbury.  Charged with rape.

Mohammed Farooq, 52, from Dewsbury.  Charged with rape.

Janine Green, 44, from Batley.  Charged with encouraging prostitution, allowing premises to be used for unlawful sexual intercourse and controlling prostitution.

Liaquat Hussain Hanif, 45, from Batley.  Charged with rape.

Shakeel Haq, 44, from Birmingham.  Charged with rape and false imprisonment.

Israr Hussain, 46, from Dewsbury.  Charged with three offences of rape, two offences of indecent assault and an offence of false imprisonment.

Maria O’Rouke, 42, from Batley.  Charged with causing the prostitution of a girl under 16, allowing a premises to be used for unlawful sexual intercourse and controlling prostitution.

Rafiq Patel, 69, from Batley.  Charged with rape.

Ansar Mahmood Qayum, 44, from Dewsbury.  Charged with rape and indecent assault.

Mohammed Jabbar Qayum, 40, from Dewsbury.  Charged with rape.

Mohammed Ramzan, 64, from Dewsbury.  Charged with rape.

Amjid Rangzeb, 43, from Batley.  Charged with rape and false imprisonment.

Hashim Sacha, 53, from Batley.  Charged with rape.

Ismail Seedat, 51, from Batley.  Charged with indecent assault.

Nobhar Shah, 69, from Batley.  Charged with two offences of rape and living on the earnings of prostitution.

Shafiq Siddique, 52, from Dewsbury.  Charged with rape and false imprisonment.

Riaz Shaikh, 57, from Dewsbury.  Charged with rape and indecent assault.

The day after they appeared at Leeds Magistrates Court, the elected mayor of West Yorkshire released a video directed at misogynists.  Labour's Tracy Brabin proudly announced that misogynistic comments are now being recorded as 'hate crimes' on her patch, which includes Batley and Dewsbury.  She says this is part of her pledge to 'prioritise the safety of women and girls'.

Really, Tracy?  42 people have just been charged with actual rape of girls and you're banging on about hurty words!  The timing and content of this video is disgraceful and insensitive.

It's not as if this was an isolated case on Brabin's patch.  The Huddersfield grooming case drew 41 convictions in relation to 22 victims.  Same old Labour, covering up for Muslim paedophiles and rapists.

BRABIN ELECTED WEST YORKS MAYOR

Labour's Tracy Brabin has won the inaugural West Yorkshire mayoral election after a run-off against the Tory candidate.  In the run-off she received a total of 310,923 first and second preference votes against 208,957 for the Conservative candidate.  It's a double celebration for the former actress, as today is her 60th birthday.

This contest is the last of the mayoral elections to be declared.

The next question on everyone's mind is what happens to Brabin's position as an MP.  This was a question posed on Twitter by journalist Michael Crick.

Thanks to Crick's inquiries we have now learned that Brabin has no choice but to resign her Batley and Spen seat.  This is because she will inherit the responsibility of West Yorkshire police and crime commissioner, a role that cannot be held by an MP.  The role of PCC in Sheffield is not held by the mayor, hence Dan Jarvis maintains two jobs.  However, contrary to Crick's assertion about that role not being paid - it is, to the tune of £79,000.  This means Jarvis picks up £81,932 as an MP in addition to his £79k as mayor.

One wonders if Brabin would have given up her seat given a choice.  Poor Tracy, how on earth she will manage to survive on £105,000 a year for the next three years?  Luckily she knows how to feed her family for as little as a fiver, thanks to her days working in Sainsburys...

Another parliamentary by-election for Starmer in the north of England is the stuff of nightmares for the embattled Labour leader, particularly given that Batley and Spen is another marginal.  Labour will go into this by-election defending a 3,525 majority.  Their majority in Hartlepool was 3,595.

BRABIN SLAMMED BY MUSLIM HOST

Labour's Tracy Brabin has been accused of snubbing the Muslim community in West Yorkshire after she pulled out of a mayoral hustings.  Brabin is standing as Labour's candidate for the new post of West Yorkshire regional mayor.  On Wednesday she was due to take part in a debate on the British Muslim TV channel, but after the event was moved from Wakefield to Bradford, she pulled out at the last minute.  Compared to Wakefield, Bradford is just over a mile further away from Brabin's native Batley.  The host of the event, Mohammed Shafiq, was clearly incensed and let rip on Twitter.

A spokesperson for British Muslim TV said that all five participants were emailed about the change of venue 24 hours prior to the event.  However, a spokesperson for Brabin claimed that the venue was changed 'at the last minute'.  Clearly rattled, the spokesperson told YorkshireLive: "Mr Shafiq’s claims are a complete misrepresentation of the truth.  Tracy was happy to attend.  However, British Muslim TV’s last minute changes to the venue, format and timings due to 'health and safety risks' - and a reluctance to confirm the new venue would be Covid secure - meant Tracy was unable to attend in person.  Tracy offered to attend by video -  as she has with many other media and community events - and was very disappointed that they couldn’t accommodate this".

Despite the setback, Brabin can be fairly certain of victory in May.  The West Yorkshire region is mostly Labour territory and includes the solid Labour cities of Bradford, Leeds and Wakefield.  However, what will certainly rile some activists is the fact that she is already an MP and - like Dan 'Two Jobs' Jarvis in neighbouring South Yorkshire - she has no intention of standing down from Westminster.

At a time of mass unemployment, the fact that after May there could be two Labour MPs also operating as regional mayors is nothing short of a disgrace.  In addition to his basic £81,932 salary as an MP, Jarvis picks up an additional £79,000 as the Mayor of the Sheffield City Region.  Those figures do not include allowances and expenses.  If Brabin becomes Mayor of West Yorkshire she will earn a whopping £105,000 salary in addition to her MP's salary.

Labour's woke metropolitan MPs have long forsaken the working classes and are now only interested in making as much money as possible.  Shameful.

MP PROTESTERS NAMED & SHAMED

Little Owen was already downplaying the turnout before yesterday's demo even began.  He said that media predictions of 250,000 protesters were "absurdly inflated" and made several excuses as to why the turnout would not meet expectations.  After the protest was over he confirmed that the media forecast was indeed way off the mark.

Having been one of the main ringleaders of this national disgrace, the wee lad was obviously going to exaggerate a wee bit.  If the last Loser's Vote march is anything to go by, then we could surmise that perhaps only a third of Owen's 75,000 estimate attended.  By all accounts the protest was a damp squib, despite all the hard work of the BBC and their comrades in trying to whip it up.

Going by many eyewitness accounts and several videos that have appeared, the protesters themselves certainly appeared to have been 'whipped up'.  Despite all the rubbish about this being a "peaceful" protest, anyone suspected of Trump sympathies that got in the way was treated with anything but "peace", man.

First there was the middle-aged man who was surrounded by a baying mob and doused in milkshake.

Then there was the elderly man who was manhandled and shoved to the ground by stewards who were clearly wearing Unite (the union) baseball caps.

Disgraceful.  Needless to say neither incident, nor the abuse directed at Jewish demonstrators described by Mahyar Tousi in the previous post, has received much attention in the press.

So, which 'honourable' Labour members attended this national disgrace?  Obviously the Great Leader was there, a keynote speaker no less, but which MPs actually showed their faces?  Like the protest itself, not as many as previously expected, but we suspect that many turned up, witnessed the debacle and quietly slipped away without so much as a Twitter selfie.  Below is a list of the ones we know were involved.
