Hardly any big film or TV franchise seems safe from the scourge of hard left social engineering.  Activists appear to have taken over Hollywood and the entertainment industry, dictating that DEI must now be ingrained in any project lest it be barred from awards consideration.  How ironic that the biggest loudmouth adherents of this poison cry 'fascism' in their persistent verbal assaults on the Trump administration.  Yes, Mark Ruffalo and comrades, if woke messenging is now mandatory viewing for punters who simply long to be entertained - then you are not quite the freedom loving liberals you appear to present yourselves as.  Quite the opposite.

With the woke destruction of beloved long-running sci-fi staples as Doctor Who and Star Wars, it is no great surprise to see Star Trek also being dragged into the gutter and along the same path of debauched demise.  The latest series - Star Trek: Starfleet Academy - has dialled up the woke to eleven, epitomised by a Klingon character who is biologically male, but wears a skirt or a dress in multiple scenes and forms a relationship with a male human character.  The show is led by a female captain played by Holly Hunter, whose behaviour would certainly raise the eyebrows of past captains such as Kirk and Picard.  The diverse cast includes gays, lesbians and not content with a multi-racial array of actors, some of the characters themselves are 'mixed race' ie. half Klingon- half Tellarite, half human-half Lanthanite and so on.

As with previous propaganda pieces such as Star Wars: The Acolyte and various Marvel Studios tv shows, the critics lapped up the slop.  However, the people who have actually invested in these franchises for the best part of a life time - the fans - have reacted somewhat differently.

Unsurprisingly, Starfleet Academy was dead on arrival.  A second series had been filmed back-to-back with the first, but it will be the last to air.  Once again, the lofty views of woke critics cannot save a production from cancellation - it's bums on seats and financial returns that maintain franchises.  This repeated cycle of woke and broke really is the epitome of idiocy - doing the same thing over and over again, in the hope of a different result, but failing every single time.

When will the people who own these studios revert back to entertaining their audience, instead of indoctrinating them and/or ripping into them when they voice their disapproval?  How much more money can these studios afford to lose?

WOKE WEDNESDAYS #50

The very deliberate act of social engineering that is the deChristianization of the West is plain to see during our most prominent festivals.  Over many decades Easter has largely been reduced to children pining for chocolate eggs, while Christmas has become a light show that culminates in vulgar displays of expensive gifts having their wrapping paper torn away in animalistic fashion.

Attempts to remove Christ from both festivals dates back many years.  References to Easter have increasingly been airbrushed from the obligatory eggs, which have been rebranded 'chocolate eggs' or 'gesture eggs'.  In 2017 the National Trust renamed its Easter Egg Trail as the 'Great British Egg Hunt'.

The name Christmas has been under attack for much longer, for obvious reasons - it contains the Lord's name.  The oldest and most commonly airbrushed alternative is Xmas, but there are plenty of others such as Crimbo, Yuletide, Noël, the festive season, the generic 'holidays' and who can forget Birmingham City Council's infamous rebrand - 'Winterval'.

The war on Christianity by corporate quasi-communistic elements continues this year with an early example being a viral image of a packaged decorative tree in Tesco.  However, there is no reference to Christmas on the packaging as it has now been rebranded an 'Evergreen Tree'.  To Karl's surprise, when he visited a Tesco store last week he found a further five examples of decorative trees with the reference to Christmas replaced.  His photos from that visit are featured in this week's meme.  Five of the six products are under Tesco's own brand, while the sixth is from a London-based company called Bayswood.  Did they also have to remove the word Christmas in order to get their product stocked in Tesco?

Corporate interests see Christmas as a cash cow that can be repackaged as a non-religious festival that appeals to everyone and therefore maximises their profits.  University educated Marxists would prefer the religious aspect to be removed and rebranded for 'inclusivity' purposes, while globalists require this troublesome custom to be stamped out altogether along with every other localised custom that fosters regional, cultural or national identity.

WOKE WEDNESDAYS #49

As if we didn't already know from two summers of weekly protests, the left despise the state of Israel.  And sharing a trait with some elements of the far right, it's not enough to simply voice opposition to a state that routinely attacks and occupies neighbouring territories.  All too often, the left take out their frustrations on ordinary Jews, who they perceive to be linked to a hive mind that makes them equally to blame for the criminal actions of Netanyahu.

The same people call other white people 'racist' if they dare generalise other ethnic groups with negative stereotypes.  But it's OK for the left to do that with Jews - they are fair game - as are white people (the 'gammon' and the 'Karens').

It's rank hypocrisy, but of course such things do not apply to the high and mighty of the self-righteous left.

They have no problem at all in taking a Jewish folk hero and turning their life into a public display of ridicule, purely as a means to insult as many Jews as possible.  And that's what has happened in New York of all places.  It's probably no coincidence that in order to maximise the insult, they chose a city that is home to the largest Jewish population of any city in the world - that's including Israeli cities.

Yes, woke playwright progressives have taken Anne Frank - the most iconic of all the Nazis' Jewish victims - and turned this innocent teenager into a pansexual Latino girl in a relationship with a 'non-binary' person.  They have also thrown in a 'neurodiverse' family in just for progressive measure.  The fact that Anne Frank was barely 15 years old when she died doesn't seem to matter to these degenerates.

The play, entitled Slam Frank, has drawn staunch criticism from Jewish groups.  Naturally, they perceive it as 'disrespectful', which is clearly the intention of the writer.  You see, the people who preach the most about hate, are the most hateful people of all...

WOKE WEDNESDAYS #48

The Welsh government has a plan to eradicate racism in Wales by the year 2030 (yes, that year again).  As part of formulating their master plan, the government paid a group called Climate Cymru BAME (Black and Minority Ethnic) to conduct a study and report back.  The report ends with a series of recommendations, one of which is the creation of 'dog-free areas in local green spaces'.  However, the report does not provide a solitary clue as to how restrictions on dog walkers will contribute to 'ending racism'.

The Independent reported that the possible source of the recommendation is another report, this time from a group called the North Wales Africa Society.  However, the canine issue is attributed to one single contributor - a black female who said she 'felt unsafe in the presence of dogs'.  So are the Welsh government going to take on board this recommendation and create an apartheid system that discriminates against dog walkers, based on the concerns of one solitary black female?

It really wouldn't surprise us.

It seems that every sinew of British life is now infiltrated by the Marxist war on speech, on and off dry land.  As an island nation, we are naturally at home on the waves, albeit our trawlers are now inhabited by 'fisherpeople' as opposed to 'fishermen' according to the likes of the BBC.  While the workers scoff at such bizarre gender-neutral language, the disease of politically correct speech is now being extended to sailing in all its forms of leisure pursuits.

New guidelines from the Royal Yachting Association - which boasts Princess Anne as its president - have declared that certain sailing terms are potentially offensive to women and so-called 'non-binary' people.  Use of 'man overboard' is now problematic, and should be replaced with the much longer 'person in water' - an extra two syllables which could cost valuable seconds in response time when someone is drowning.  Just as long as no-one is offended, eh?

The term 'sportsmanship' is also deemed potentially offensive, as is 'seaman' and 'seamanship', which should be replaced with 'deckhand', 'deck work' or 'boat handling'.  

The guide states:

"Some language in sailing and boating environments might not value or represent people who identify as female or prefer gender-neutral terms.  For a long time, some terminology focussed on the male perspective to being involved in sailing and boating.  As the representation of people identifying as female or non-binary has increased within our sport and recreation, it’s important that the language that we use honours and values them too."

The RYA is not just responsible for yachting, but all manner of leisurely sailing vessels - everything from paddle boards and kayaks upwards.  Perhaps they can apply it to migrant boats too, despite the fact there is little chance of anything other than a man going overboard!

You might say that establishment comic Lenny Henry (full title Sir Lenworth George Henry CBE) has done reasonably ok for himself.  Despite being mostly absent from the stand-up circuit for decades, he is never short of work in a variety of roles - on stage, screen and behind the scenes as screenwriter and producer.  He has had numerous honours bestowed on him, beginning with a CBE in 1999, followed by a knighthood in 2015.  He has been recognised with various lifetime awards, has an honorary doctorate from Nottingham Trent Univeristy and he was recently given the freedom of the City of London.  He has a reported net worth of £7.3million.

It's not a bad résumé for a Black Country-born lad from a large Jamaican immigrant family.  He is perhaps one of the finest examples of how colour is not a barrier to success in the UK, as long as one is prepared to work for it.

And yet instead of promoting that message to those who expect to have the easy life bestowed on them, he has joined the chorus of demand for 'slavery reparations'.  What's more, this pursuit of victimhood for the black community did not happen in a throwaway line during a media interview - he has co-wrote an entire book that lays out the case for £18 trillion worth of reparations to people who have never been slaves, whose parents and grandparents weren't slaves.

Absurd.

His book, co-penned with diversity hack Marcus Ryder MBE, is entitled The Big Payback, and justifies reparations with the usual claims that black Britons are forever victims of an institutionally racist country.  The pair claim reparations will 'end racism', overlooking the fact that such a colossal payout would make multimillionaires of every black Briton, driving up inflation and pissing off just about every non-black person in the entire country.

It's remarkable that such a book of idiotic victimhood can be written by two guys who have apparently done so well for themselves without success having been handed to them on a plate...

WOKE WEDNESDAYS #45

If you've followed English football for the last few decades you will of course be familiar with the name of Gary Neville.  A rock solid right-back, Neville was part of the ultra successful Manchester United team of Alex Ferguson, and he also represented the England national team an impressive 85 times.  After retiring from the field of play in 2011, Neville has invested heavily in property, while also maintaining his football interest by becoming a TV pundit and purchasing Salford City Football Club alongside some of his ex-Manchester United team mates.  He also tried - and failed - at club management.

In recent years Neville has become increasingly outspoken on political issues, endorsing Labour - and Keir Starmer - on multiple occasions.  He appeared on stage with Starmer at the 2022 party conference and appeared alongside him again in a Labour election broadcast in 2024.

It could be argued that Gary has been inspired by his name-sake, potato crisp salesman and fellow multi millionaire ex-footballing socialist Gary Lineker.  However, while the latter deploys a smug, polished delivery of woke virtue signalling, the pound shop version comes across as eminently less so.  He was absolutely skewered during an appearance on the Beeb's Have I Got News For You, when challenged as to how his supposedly woke progressive persona seemed to give way when Qatari Arabs were offering a fat pay cheque to commentate on the controversial 2022 World Cup.

Earlier this week Neville released a video response to the Islamist attack on a synagogue in north Manchester last week.  Instead of bemoaning the divisive narrative that has been imported to the UK by both historic and ongoing mass migration, coupled with the rise of far left Palestine activism, just 18 seconds into his 'insight', he began attacking the presence of national flags placed on lamp-posts.  He then refers to 'division that's being created' and says it's 'absolutely disgusting'.  Then, in the very next sentence he goes on to specifically blame 'middle-aged white men' for this 'division'.

Just a reminder Gary - the man who carried out the attack on the synagogue was not a middle-aged white man, in fact he was not even British.

Pound Shop Lineker follows this up by proudly declaring that he 'instantly' tore down a Union flag that had appeared at one of his development sites.  More contradictions follow as he says he 'loves his country' and played for England.  Detractors have noted that when it came to the national anthem before England games, Neville tended to bow his head and not sing any lines, almost as if he was ashamed.  Well, now we know.  He really does hate this country and specifically the people who paid his exorbitant wages all those years, because if a football fan can be summed up in one demographic - it's a white middle-aged working class male.

Needless to say, the working class men of Greater Manchester have not reacted too kindly to Neville's absurd comments.  A banner was displayed at Salford City's latest match, in which the co-owner is described as 'traitor scum'.  National flags have also been placed on lamp-posts outside both his existing properties and development sites.

Oops, Gary, didn't anyone ever advise you not to bite the hand that feeds...

It's Labour conference time, but there are no sausages this year - only long drawn out attacks on Nigel Farage, Reform UK and the kind of working class people continuing to desert Labour in favour of the surging alternative.  There are also trigger warnings in place around the Liverpool venue, warning guests and delegates to obtain 'consent' before engaging in such everyday greetings as a handshake or a hug.

In another display of socialist control freakery, attendees are advised that if anyone rejects such trivial contact - 'whether through words or body language', their wishes must be respected 'immediately'.  Generally speaking, us Brits can usually read the signs without the need for written instructions.

As for 'consent', what consent does the Labour government have from the British people to impose a digital ID on every citizen, thus laying down the groundwork for a dystopian social credit system further down the line?

Puerile baby balloons, obscene placards, screaming into the sky like a lunatic and throwing milkshakes over people sympathetic to the Donald - all symptoms of Trump Derangement Syndrome (TDS).  We've also seen darker manifestations of TDS, that result in serious injury and death.  And then there are equally extreme cases in which the sufferers self harm.

There are reportedly five confirmed cases of US women having sterilised themselves in response to Donald Trump's presidential victory.  One of them is a Democrat politician who serves in the Michigan House of Representatives.  Laurie Pohutsky announced to a leftist crowd in February this year that she had undergone surgery to ensure that she 'would never have to navigate a pregnancy in Donald Trump’s America'.  She added:  "I refuse to let my body be treated as currency by an administration that only sees value in my ability to procreate."

Pohutsky claimed to have had the operation just days after President Trump was inaugurated.  If true, the childless bisexual will remain childless forever, a petulant act for someone of any age, but Pohutsky is no spring chicken at 37 years old.  While her fertility may be on the wane, she still had time and opportunities to procreate with her male partner.

It was a simpler world when chromosomes divided the sexes into two distinct groups.  Thanks to the graduates of the University of Marx, society is much more complicated now, with long-held scientific facts being thrown out of the window in place of 'feelings'.

It's all about empowerment you see, straight out of Karl's playbook of bourgeois bullshit.  These crazed leftists want to give children the opportunity to identify as dogs and giraffes, have their genitalia surgically removed on a whim - no need to consult the parents - and allow adults to identify as whomsoever they wish and rightfully command the respect of their peers as they march into whichever gendered toilet or changing room they damn well like.

The Marxist goal is, as always, to enforce equality through whatever twisted means possible.  And as per usual, the ideology mooted and inspired by that workshy loser cannot ever succeed, as in this instance those all important chromosomes will always win.

But wait, fellow man, let's indulge the commie clowns for a second.  With a dash of lippy and a padded bra, any of us can play the transgeneration game in Clown World.  Just don't forget to tuck the little man in and patiently await that Crying Game moment...

WOKE WEDNESDAYS #41

They call it 'colour blind casting'.  It is the process modern film and TV producers undertake when casting their productions, so that the actors on screen are as diverse as possible.  It is the archetypal implementation of DEI (Diversity, Equity and Inclusion).

Now this all sounds well and good when one is making a film about life in a contemporary Western city, but what if your flick is set in small town USA or rural Britain?  What if your production revolves around ninth century Scandinavia or, say, 11th century England in the year 1066...

The Beeb's production of King & Conqueror is supposed to depict the battle for the throne of England following the death of childless Edward the Confessor.  For the cast to look historically accurate, then all the actors should be of European ancestry and yes, that means white.  However, due to the implementation of DEI across the board, the show features multiple black 'Anglo-Saxons' fighting an army of Norman invaders, which also includes some black faces.  There are even scenes featuring diverse ethnic and mixed groups represented in the nobility of both sides.  Absurd.

Just to be clear - the Angles, the Saxons and the Normans were all ethnic European groups - they were not 'multi-cultural' or 'multi-ethnic'.  This show perverts history in order to brainwash youngsters into accepting that their contemporary surroundings is just 'how it's always been'.

Of course King & Conqueror is just one example of an agenda that pervades modern entertainment, where propaganda is prioritised over entertainment.  From Amazon's Rings of Power (that would have Tolkien spinning in his grave) to the multi-ethnic period drama of Bridgerton and the hugely controversial casting of a half Jamaican woman as Cleopatra (both from Netflix), the list goes on.

And now that the big awards ceremonies such as the Oscars and BAFTA now require DEI casting in order to be considered, the issue is here to stay for the foreseeable future.  That is, perhaps, until Hollywood and the entertainment industry collapses altogether.  The concept of entertaining your paying customers is the winning notion that built a multi-billion dollar industry in the first place.  Now that this idea is being jettisoned in favour of political indoctrination, there are less bums on seats.

In the 2010s Stella Creasy was one of Labour's self-styled feminists.  Alongside loud mouth Jess Phillips, she led the centrist girlie charge from the backbenches of Jeremy Corbyn's Labour.  Fast forward to the 2020s and the narrative changed.  Traditional feminists were now designated TERFs by the Marxist establishment.  For those that don't know, TERF stands for Trans-Exclusionary Radical Feminist, the suggestion being that a mainstay of left-wing politics for decades was now discriminatory and extreme.

Ever keen to maintain the progressive arc, Labour MPs like Stella embraced the new mantra, ditching the suddenly 'dated' concept that feminism was dedicated to the sole advance of adult human females.  In a Telegraph interview in 2022 she enthusiastically declared: "Do I think some women were born with penises?  Yes.  But they are now women and I respect that."

The focus of the interview was initially intended to be about Stella herself - naturally.  Famed for her narcissism, this is the MP who paraded her newborn child around Parliament like some kind of fashion accessory.  During the last term she could be seen on the backbenches during live debates with the infant strapped to her bosom, even 'wearing it' for her official MP portrait of 2020.

While the interview was ostensibly to discuss Creasy's experiences at university (yes, yet another university educated bourgeois Labour MP) - primarily a claim she made about being threatened with gang rape - the topic turned to trans.  It's amazing that MPs like Creasy and Phillips can talk so much about rape threats and misogynistic comments directed towards them, but a pin drop can be heard when they are asked about the industrial scale actual rape of young English girls, just saying...

In any case, if Stella thought the headlines were going to be about her suffering through university, her absurd views on womanhood put that to bed.  She continued her trans divergence by lashing out at probably the world's most famous continuity feminist:  "JK Rowling doesn't support self-identification whereas I do.  Of course biological sex is real - it's just not the end of the conversation.  I am somebody who would say that a trans woman is an adult human female."

She added that the then law on transitioning - which required two doctors to assess the individual's qualification for 'womanhood' - was 'bonkers'.

WOKE WEDNESDAYS #39

Is there anyone more 'woke' than the current Mayor of London?  Despite his Muslim background, Sadiq Khan embraces just about every progressive cause going.  He is more concerned with photo opportunities at 'Pride' events than addressing serious issues that affect the daily lives of Londoners, such as the scourge of street crime.  It is little wonder that he enrages the proletariat with his smug haughty demeanour, while they are robbed in the street and repeatedly told that 'diversity is strength'.

Afterall, the Mayor is also responsible for policing, something that he seems to have either forgotten about or just doesn't care.

Khan is often characterised as being a Labour moderate or a 'centrist'.  The same can be said of many senior Labour figures - including Starmer - but their pursuit of a progressive left agenda places them far from the centre of the political spectrum.  They are dangerous anointed commissars pushing a globalist programme inspired by a man who has a bust of Lenin in his study.

Khan pursues this communist agenda to every last detail.  He is the chairman of the C40 Cities Initiative, a globalist NGO that aspires to stop the world's citizens consuming meat and dairy, restricting how, when and where we travel and stripping private ownership of homes, cars and even the clothes we wear.  His ultimate goal is to crush the will, liberty and identity of every human being on earth, reducing us to mindless automatons.

So it should come as little surprise to find that in June 2023 the Mayor 'banned' his staff from using specific words that identify individuals by their immutable characteristics.  They were told not to use terms such as 'men', 'women', 'ladies' and 'gentlemen'.  Such terminology was 'dated and medicalised' according to a leaked memo.  Yes, according to Chairman Khan one's sex is simply a medical condition!

Instead, people should be referred to as simply 'people' or 'Londoners'.  And of course, in Khan's communist mantra of 'diversity is strength', anyone can be a Londoner.  So he banned the use of the term 'illegal immigrant', because ultimately no-one is illegal and borders should not even exist.  Everyone is welcome as he seeks to 'build a London for all', where cultural, ethnic, religious and national identities disappear into a melting pot of nothingness.

That's the idea anyway.  As history shows us, communism never reaches the utopia it aspires to, if such a Hellish world of totalitarian restraints can even be called a 'utopia'...

WOKE WEDNESDAYS #38

We're in Scotland for a second consecutive Woke Wednesday, with more Supreme Court-defying trans nonsense on display.  The Edinburgh Fringe is a huge festival that takes place across most of August and hosts millions of visitors each year.  Littered with live performances, combined with the proliferation of alcohol, there have been multiple complaints of lewd conduct, sexual harassment and serious sex crimes over the years.

In 2017 a former aide to John Major and Tony Blair raped a 19-year-old woman after luring the drunk festival goer into his camper van.  A 20-year-old festival goer claimed she was raped at a Fringe party in 2012.  A performer also claimed she was raped by a fellow comic - while another watched.  The alleged perpetrator later appeared on stage with her and 'slapped [her] arse'.  In 2019 the actors' union Equity called on festival organisers to 'do more' to tackle sexual harassment.  Multiple examples of performers being abused and assaulted were used to highlight the union's demand.

At the time, organisers responded with the following statement:

“Everyone who is part of the Fringe - be they a performer, member of the crew, producer, audience member, critic and so on - has the right to feel safe and supported.  The Fringe Society takes complaints of this nature very seriously and is already in contact with Equity to better understand the nature of these complaints.  We would urge anyone who has experienced inappropriate behaviour of this sort to contact Police Scotland directly.”

However, in 2025 it was revealed that a popular Fringe venue was providing gender neutral toilets, giving biological males the opportunity to invade female spaces where they are at their most vulnerable.  Underbelly Bristo Square displayed a message adjacent to the customary ladies and gents signs that invited guests to use 'whichever toilet best fits your identity or expression'.  A male photographer who snapped the signs asked a member of staff if he could use the female toilet, to which the reply was: "Yes".

As the news went viral, a backlash began to grow from feminist campaigners.  They used the recent Supreme Court verdict on biological sex to support their argument.  Tory MSPs were among those who complained directly to the venue and the pressure soon forced a u-turn.  The offending signs were removed and the segregated ladies and gents restored, albeit with a third toilet that retains the 'gender neutral' option.

Underbelly Bristo Square confirmed the u-turn: "We have updated our signage and facilities to clearly provide separate toilets for men only, for women only, alongside a separate inclusive option for anyone regardless of how they identify."

The Scottish government, led by the leftists of the SNP, is still resisting the implementation of the Supreme Court ruling.  Clearly, this has created fertile conditions for organisations in Scotland to ignore the ruling.  Feminist groups are resurgent following the Supreme Court decision and there will undoubtedly be litigation if woke businesses and the public sector fail to observe the law.

Army veteran David Toshack is taking prison subcontractors GEOAmey to an employment tribunal after he fell foul of their self appointed pronouns commissars.  The 50-year-old was set to take up a role as a custody officer at Kirkcaldy Sheriff Court, but upset instructors during a training course back in January this year.  When the course turned to the issue of transgender prisoners, Mr Toshack said he felt uncomfortable referring to biological men as women and vice versa.  He was allegedly told to leave the room and summarily sacked later the same day.

Mr Toshack, who is a practising Christian, was apparently told that his views were both 'against the law' and company policy.  He told The Daily Mail:  "I’m just a normal, working class person who’s never been in trouble with the law before, not got a criminal record, lived a good life.  I’ve been prepared to go and fight and die for my country, and then I have come back here and been told that there’s certain things you can’t think or can’t say."

He added:  "I’m not some kind of pious, religious zealot.  I’m just a normal person who goes to church., but calling a man a woman is just a lie.  It’s not based in science, it’s not based on biology, it’s not based in reality."

Mr Toshack will claim at the tribunal later this year that GEOAmey subjected him to unlawful discrimination and harassment.  He will be represented by the same solicitor currently representing Scots NHS nurse Sandie Peggie, who is embroiled in an ongoing employment tribunal after she was suspended for objecting to the presence of a male trans doctor in the women's changing room.

There are also claims that prison officers in Scotland are still facing disciplinary action if they 'misgender' trans prisoners, despite the Supreme Court ruling on biological sex last April.

Last month the approach to London's Wembley Stadium was decked out in 60 foot long rainbow colours - not the traditional 'Pride flag', but the dystopian Alphabet flag aka the 'Progress Pride flag'.  The flags  were hung either side of the road as far as the eye could see, making sure that no-one could fail to realise it was 'Pride Month'.

No-one caused a fuss, the local council just got on with their leftist display and the masses tolerated it.

Cut to the sleepy village of Claxton in Norfolk, population just 298 and dare we say it's probably near enough 100 per cent British born and bred.  The committee at the local village hall announced last year that they wanted to fly a mere 9 foot flag pole featuring the Union flag, albeit only on certain days such as public holidays.  However, some locals reacted so strongly against the proposal that one would be forgiven for thinking that Claxton was actually a predominantly Catholic village in Northern Ireland.

However, this is not the case, and Brit after Brit complained about the idea that their own national flag could be flown in their village, which happens to be located in... Great Britain.

While the local parish council approved the flag pole, one parisioner argued that the committee should make do with bunting, because a flag on a pole presents 'a fine line between patriotism and nationalism'.  A resident named Glynnis White demanded to know the committee's 'motivations' for flying such a flag, adding: "The flag is often used as a symbol against immigration and it would worry me if it was being used in the wrong way".

Good grief!

Another resident, John Garcia, complained: "People have been really riled up about this, I don't know if I've ever seen the Union Jack flown at a village hall before and it does have certain connotations."  He never saw a Union flag flying outside a village hall?  Has he never left Claxton in his entire life or did he just come in off a boat?  Another complainant argued that the cost of the flag pole could be put to better use, such as installing central heating and/or a heat pump.  A heat pump, you say?  Perhaps we are getting to the bottom of the bourgeois demographic behind these complaints...

Another unnamed villager also complained to the local MP - Labour's newly elected Ben Goldsborough.  However, Goldsborough decided to play Devil's advocate and sit on the fence: "The most important thing is making sure that all residents feel listened to" he said.

It is not clear how many of the individuals involved in the complaints were one and the same, but thankfully there were voices of sanity also.  Nancy Harrison, who moved to the village in 2022, said: "Why should we be ashamed of our flag?  If it puts people off from moving here then they shouldn't."

Bravo Nancy, although it's desperately sad that it had to be said at all.

So there we have it folks, in modern Britain we can deck our high streets out in far left Progress 'Pride' flags, but actually flying our own national flag presents a problem.

A Warwickshire secondary school has found itself the focus of national outrage after it sent home a 12-year-old girl last Friday for wearing a Union flag dress on a non-uniform day.  If that wasn't bad in enough in itself, the day in question was themed a 'culture day' and pupils had been encouraged to wear 'traditional attire' that reflects their 'nationality or family heritage'.  As a girl born in Britain to British parents, what could be more appropriate than a dress emblazoned with a Union flag?

However, staff at Bilton School - which is situated in a suburb of the predominantly English market town of Rugby - instantly barred the girl from participating in the event.  She was told the dress was 'unacceptable' and sent to the school reception where she was made to sit in isolation for three hours.  Her father Stuart got a phone call from the school at 9am, but could not get away from work to collect her until noon.

He later told reporters: "My daughter should not be made to feel embarrassed about being British, and she shouldn't be punished for celebrating being British - nobody else I've spoken to can quite get their heads around it.  I've had hundreds of people reaching out to me from all over the UK, as well as Australians, I've had Polish, people from America all reaching out.  We should be able to send our kids into school to celebrate British culture and history."

His daughter Courtney had also prepared a speech to contribute to the event.  It was to go as follows:

Hello everyone. 

Today I want to talk about my culture - British culture - and why it’s important to me.

In Britain, we have lots of traditions including drinking tea, our love for talking about the weather and we have the Royal Family. 

We have amazing history, like Kings and Queens, castles, and writers like Shakespeare.

It's also modern, diverse and always changing - with music, fashion and food from all around the world blending into daily life. And let’s not forget fish and chips! 

It's also the way we speak, our humour, our values of fairness and politeness, and the mix of old traditions and new ideas. 

But sometimes at school, we only hear about other cultures - which is great because learning about different countries is interesting and important. But it can feel like being British doesn’t count as a culture, just because it’s the majority. 

I think culture should be for everyone - not just for people from other countries or backgrounds. Being British is still a culture, and it matters too. It’s part of who I am.

So let’s celebrate all cultures - whether they come from far away or right here at home.

It appears that Marxist university graduates who have infiltrated our education system - including schools in sleepy market towns - don't think being British should be celebrated full stop.  As news of the incident spread, a hollow apology was issued and the girl was invited to return to school in her dress to make the speech.  However, her father claimed she had been made to feel so ashamed that she no longer felt comfortable wearing the dress.  This is exactly what these hard left traitors want - to suppress national pride and shame children who are white and British.

A spokesperson for Keir Starmer was asked about the incident and replied: "The Prime Minister has always been clear that being British is something to be celebrated".  Headlines suggesting that Starmer himself has 'spoken out' in support of the girl are misleading.  His education secretary Bridget Phillipson has also said nothing.

The Daily Mail is often cited as an example of the 'right wing press' and, sure, it appeals eminently more to a conservative readership than woke liberals and socialists, but in recent years it has not shied away from pushing certain hard left agendas.  In the neverending tabloid quest for outlandish headlines and clickbait, earlier this year the Mail published a story that ties in directly to the Marxist assault on womanhood through trans ideology.

We have written about this insidious agenda all too often in this column, so for the benefit of newcomers we will simplify it thus - the ultimate aim is to achieve communist utopia by undermining the immutable characteristics that make us who and what we are, including the abject denial of the scientific reality of binary sex, supposedly rendering every human being a mindless automaton free of invidualism and identity.  It is a pipe dream that cannot ever work, even with all the force and coercion of the state behind it.

The trans agenda is an extension of the assault on Christianity and family values that dates back decades.

Back in March the Mail announced that a British 'man' had 'conceived a baby naturally'.  However, the 'man' is in fact a woman who claims to be a male called 'Malachi', but she has no legal recognition to support her claim and is even listed as the unfortunate child's mother on the birth certificate.  She conceived the baby naturally, because she is a woman with female reproductive organs.

A man cannot give birth.

One has to ask why the Daily Mail is promoting such nonsense and how on earth it can expect to retain a conservative readership while doing so...

Glastonbury used to be a music festival.  Founded in 1970 by left-wing farmer and one time Labour candidate Michael Eavis, its initial theme being 'pop, rock, blues and folk'.  Over the years it evolved to incorporate all kinds of performance arts, although the main focus remained on music.  Throughout the course of this century the event has been a go to place for bourgeois leftists and musicians have increasingly played to this demographic.

The flags that are famously waved by spectators have varied during the same period, in order to depict whatever 'virtuous current trend' demands their attention.  Brexit loomed large in the 2010s, leading a reporter from The Guardian to comment in 2016 that she 'didn't encounter a single person who voted leave'.  

The BLM riots coincided with the scamdemic that led to the cancellation of the 2020 and 2021 festivals, so attendees missed out on lots of race-related lectures.  Eavis's daughter Emily commented at the time that the festival would have been 'inspired' by BLM, as well as 'climate change'.  When it returned in 2022, the Glastonbury political messenging went into overdrive.  There were keynote speeches from Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Greta Thunberg, while Labour's Jess Phillips and Andy Burnham also addressed audiences.

There are of course exceptions to the middle class rule.  A lad in a 'Love Brexit' t-shirt was spotted in 2019, while a Trump flag was flown in 2023.  However, they stood out because they are exceptions.  You're far more likely to see communist regalia and the flags of the EU, Palestine, Ukraine and the Alphabet People.  Whichever is the current thing...

Despite the Supreme Court ruling on the trans issue, the leftist establishment are continuing with their misogynistic agenda regardless.  Earlier this week BBC News presenter Martine Croxall defied her employers and corrected an autocue script that described 'pregnant people'.  "Women" she declared, while struggling to stifle her amusement at the absurdity of having to do so.

The viral clip is discussed by Richey in the following YouTube video. 

Martine is obviously the exception to the rule at the progressive Beeb, which has jettisoned feminism in favour of airbrushing women from existence altogether.

Like the terms 'birthing people' or 'birthing person', 'pregnant people' is intended to degrade the sanctity of womanhood and, specifically, motherhood.  Progressives argue that such 'gender-neutral' language is necessary, as the language we have been using for almost two thousand years excludes trans and 'non-binary' people.  So in order to be 'inclusive' towards a miniscule proportion of society, we must denigrate around one half of society - ie. biological women?  The objective is to dehumanise women, to render their immutable characteristics meaningless and make them feel worthless.  It is the same reason men are being increasingly demasculated and the sanctity of marriage undermined.

The goal is communism.

This is why such language flourishes on the left.  Take the current First Minister of Wales.  As a health minister in Wales, Eluned Morgan referred to 'birthing people' multiple times.  She was quoted using the term in a January 2022 press release, and again in May that year in a cabinet statement.  The quote featured in the meme below is from an April 2024 cabinet statement.

Sorry Eluned, but you're fooling nobody.  Trans people who were born male cannot give birth and nor can 'non-binary' people who are biologically male.  In short, there is only one type of person who can give birth - a person with xx chromosomes - in other words a woman!
