David Neal and Vaughan Gething: The convict and the politician

With Humza Yousaf on his way from power after just 13 months, attention has quickly refocused on Britain's other first minister.  Vaughan Gething has been at the Cymreig helm for just six weeks and an issue which dogged his leadership election campaign is being brought to the fore once again.

Gething received two hefty donations during that campaign, totalling £200,000, from a company run by convicted criminal David Neal.  Gething had previous dealings with Neal and his then company - Atlantic Recycling - dating back to at least 2016 when he was a Welsh government minister.  Neal had been convicted of illegally dumping waste on a conservation site in 2013 and ordered to clean up the mess, but Gething later repeatedly lobbied Wales' environmental regulator to suspend work on that site.

Neal was convicted again in 2017 for failing to clean up the site and Gething stepped in again a year later, writing to Natural Resources Wales on Neal's behalf.  Gething also stood for the Welsh Labour leadership later that same year and received a £38,000 donation from companies linked to Neal.  Something stinks, and it's not just David Neal's fly tipping!

Things are now complicated further by a planning application that has been put in by another of Mr Neal's ventures - Dauson Environmental Group.  It was in Dauson's name that the most recent donations of £200,000 were made to Gething's leadership campaign.  The size of the planning application, which is for a 'solar farm', would require Welsh government approval and as we know - Mr Gething is now the most senior figure in said government.  What's more, the money to fund the purchase of the site came from the Development Bank of Wales - a public body overseen at that time by none other than the Welsh minister for the economy, one Vaughan Gething!

With an obvious conflict of interest and a stench of corruption, the Welsh Conservatives tabled a debate in the Senedd that took place on Wednesday.  However, there was a notable absentee from said debate - the First Minister and the person at the centre of the debate no less!

Watch below as Tory leader Andrew RT Davies opens the debate by asking whether they 'should wait for the First Minister'.  He then reacts with dismay as he is told that Gething has not even provided a statement, much less actually show his face.

This is not the behaviour of a political leader responsible for governing a nation.  By refusing to attend and take responsibility for his actions, Gething has portrayed himself as a coward with something to hide.

During the debate, Gething was heavily criticised by one of his own colleagues.  Lee Waters remarked: "For me, this is not an issue of confidence, but it is an issue of conscience.  We look to our leaders to model behaviour we want to see, to reflect our nation and to set an example.  The first step to solving any problem is to acknowledge that there is a problem.  And it would not be a sign of weakness to say that it was a mistake to take the donation and, now all the facts are known, to give it back."

Waters is well known throughout Wales as the main architect of the despised anti-motorist 20mph scheme, so his diatribe in this instance did not carry the weight he may have hoped.  In any case, the Tory motion was defeated by 27 votes to 25.  Gething finally appeared in the dying minutes of the debate and did not speak.

Gething will face questions about his dealings with David Neal and it could yet prove his downfall.

THE LEFT'S CAMBO CHEER

Labour MPs have been among the green advocates celebrating Shell's decision to pull out of the Cambo oil field development in the North Sea.  Ed Miliband was among the first to applaud the decision, just a few days into his new front bench role as 'Shadow Secretary of State for Climate Change and Net Zero'.

Ed's trumped up title was created as part of Keir Starmer's recent reshuffle and is intended to be a clear statement of Sir Squeaky's green credentials.  Last month Starmer urged Boris Johnson to veto the Cambo development.  This is one area where the Labour leader appears to share common ground with the far left.  Members of Labour's Socialist Campaign Group were particularly vocal about Shell's decision.

The delight of Burgon and co is clear to see, but make no mistake - they will all spend this winter in warm cosy homes courtesy of fossil fuels.  They can prove us wrong when they ditch their gas boilers and rely on a heat pump.  Let them be the ones who freeze when the weather turns, but no - it will be the poorest in society who suffer.  Either these MPs can't see that or they simply don't care.

Wind and solar are great sources of renewable energy, but this is Britain and the weather here is far from predictable.  There are days in which neither the sun shines or the wind blows.  That is not a reliable alternative by itself, but as always there is a political agenda being driven that does not necessarily have the best interests of the environment at heart.

The left and the green agenda go hand in hand.  It's no coincidence that all the major green parties around the world follow socialist ideologies.  Why else would Greta Thunberg and friends be so reluctant to criticise the world's biggest polluter - China?  It's almost as if communist CO2 is an acceptable evil in their parallel quest of overthrowing the capitalist West.

The green agenda is the new media-driven left-wing cult that follows on from Black Lives Matter.  Anyone who refuses to follow the new narrative is ostracised and tarred with names like 'denier' or even 'far right'.  Patrick Harvie of the pro-independence Scottish Greens recently labelled such people 'hard right'.

For decades it has been said that the success of an independent Scotland would hinge on its access to North Sea oil.  No more.  Nicola Sturgeon recently declared her support for the anti-Cambo campaign in a crushing blow to an industry that has become synonymous with Scotland.  It appears that the green bug trumps jobs and economic prosperity.  Good luck winning IndyRef2 with policies like that.

One of the most prominent campaigners against the Cambo oil field is Lauren MacDonald.  Here she is pictured alongside Owen Jones at a rally earlier this week, during which Jones ranted about the implementation of the 'Green New Deal', a byword for socialist environmental policy.

Here's Lauren again, pictured with Ed Miliband last month (indoors and huddled up - absence of face masks duly noted).

A cursory scroll through Lauren's Twitter feed reveals the kind of mindset behind the green revolution.  Last month she retweeted the details for an open borders march in Glasgow.  The tweet declared: "There is no climate justice without migrant justice".  Come again?  What has immigration got to do with the environment?  In any case, wouldn't a borderless world encourage more people to travel and therefore increase their carbon footprint?  Plus, if the green new deal is the global utopia these people envisage, why would anyone want to leave their country of origin in the first place?

In response to the recent jailing of several Insulate Britain protesters, Lauren tweeted the following.

Talk of abolishing prisons and police is a prime example that BLM, the far left and the green agenda are all sides of the same coin.

The footsoldiers of these tentative Marxist revolutions are overwhelmingly young university-educated middle class types like Lauren.  They have little in common with the proletariat, in fact all that they do in life is rooted in avoiding manual work.  It is why they will always fail, because they do not speak the language of the masses.

When news of the Shell pull-out from Cambo broke, Lauren tweeted a picture of herself giving a picture of Shell CEO Ben van Beurden the finger (see below).

It was a puerile gesture that would inspire only puerile minds.  And these people want to be taken seriously?

Lauren's finger gesture follows her recent verbal assault on Mr van Beurden, after she somehow managed to share a stage with him.  She was invited to ask him a question, but instead went on a hysterical rant, accusing him of being 'one of the most evil people in the world'.  When she finally got around to asking him a question, she would not let him speak and resumed her rant before finally declaring that she would not 'share a platform' with van Beurden.  The Shell CEO was therefore summarily cancelled and 'no platformed' - a customary practice on university campuses for people who do not share Marxist ideology.  The footage can be seen here.

During her verbal onslaught, MacDonald deplored the 'death and suffering' that Shell was supposedly responsible for.  Well, dear, that is nothing compared the death and suffering at the hands of the communist ideology you follow.  You turn a blind eye to human rights abuses in China, to slave labour and massacres.  You and your ilk are in no position to lecture anybody about suffering.

Labour's roll-out of undeliverable pledges appears set to continue right up to election day.  Their tree-planting pledge was ridiculed last week for being exactly that - undeliverable.

While the party is currently recovering in the opinion polls, it remains to be seen whether their gradual improvement will retract again if they continue with this nonsense.  Surely people are not buying this?

CORBYN'S RECYCLING LIE

Jeremy Corbyn told a reporter today that Britain has the "lowest levels of recycling in Europe".  This was later picked out by City AM editor Christian May as a blatant lie.  According to the European Environment Agency the UK is among the top ten recycling nations in Europe, ahead of France, Italy, Spain and his beloved Ireland.

Why does Corbyn have to do our country down at every opportunity?

CORBYN TO SAVE THE PLANET!

Commie journalist Ash Sarkar claims that Corbyn will "deal with the climate crisis".  She says that failure to get him into Number Ten will result in "rising sea levels".  These crazed Corbynistas are hilarious, and highly hypocritical.  The current Labour leadership only began to show any interest in environmental concerns in April this year.  And now they are going to save the world?  Outstanding!

What happened in April?  Two things.  Firstly, Britain's participation in the European elections began to look inevitable and the Brexit Party overtook Labour in the opinion polls.  Desperate to claw back their lead, Labour saw an opportunity to grab votes from the Green Party by suddenly espousing environmental concerns.  Secondly, there was the visit of Greta Thunberg, the ecobrat from Sweden who will surely be made a saint by the end of this year.  Corbyn (and Ed Miliband) seized the photo op, albeit Corbyn himself looked like a dirty old man leering over her.  Whether or not the sudden interest in 'climate change' made any difference to Labour's electoral performance is not certain, but the Greens recorded their best ever European performance (7 seats) while Labour recorded their worst (10 seats).

Ash clearly feels very close and chummy with the Labour leadership.  She is regularly pictured at the side of 'Jezza' and Diane Abbott (who she refers to as the 'People's Auntie').  The fact that so many Labour frontbenchers are happy to associate with such a proud communist tells you everything you need to know about the extremists at the helm of the current Labour party.

Shared 2,588 times via the Facebook page, this meme got people talking in the comments as to whether or not the image was actually from this year's festival.  While there were plenty of disgusting scenes of rubbish-strewn fields from this year's festival, ultimately we felt this one (from a previous year) had more impact.  So there you go, but it really is of little consequence as we posted no claim to suggest that it was from this year's festival anyway.
