THE (EX) LABOUR 15

15 former Labour MPs have put their names to an advert today urging voters to "think again" about backing Labour.  This is not simply a collection of pro-Brexit, Tory-backing ex-members, far from it.  This is a diverse group coming at from a variety of political angles.  There are the ardent Brexiteers Tom Harris and Gisela Stuart, but there are also ardent Remainers such as Mike Gapes, Ann Coffey, Louise Ellman and Chris Leslie.  The latter group are certainly not advocating a vote for the Tories, just anyone but Corbyn.  However, as there are only two scenarios on Friday - either Brexit with Boris or the death of Brexit with Corbyn, they will clearly be relieved to see a Boris victory.  That says a lot about how emotive feelings are towards Corbyn and safeguarding the security of our nation - in that individuals so vociferously opposed to Brexit would rather see Brexit happen than have their former leader running the country.

As the general election campaign kicked off in earnest it's fair to say it wasn't a great start for Boris Johnson.  However, just as Labour were beginning to smell blood, along came Tom Watson to throw a massive spanner in the works.  Billy Bunter never does anything without careful care and consideration about just how much damage it can do to his party leader.  By a massive 'coincidence' his friend and former Black Country colleague Ian Austin declared war on Jeremy Corbyn the following morning in a blaze of publicity and wave of media interviews.  He appeared later in the day with another former Labour MP, John Woodcock, as they launched their Mainstream anti-extremism group (see below).  A bad day was made infinitely worse by the Jewish Chronicle publishing its forthcoming front page a day early to call on British voters to reject Corbyn.

LABOUR BOTTLE IT A THIRD TIME

As promised, Labour MPs overwhelmingly abstained in the PM's third attempt to get a general election.  Boris says he'll keep trying, but it seems that Labour are intent on paralysing Parliament for months to come.  The electorate will not forget this quickly, nor will we forget who is to blame for blocking Brexit yet again.  The longer they block an election (and Brexit), the bigger their eventual defeat will be.  They can run, but they can't hide.

Ex-Tory Remainers who joined Labour in abstaining included the usual suspects of Grieve, Hammond and Letwin.  The only Labour MP who voted for an election was, rather predictably, Kate Hoey.  Ex-Labour MPs Ian Austin, Frank Field, Ivan Lewis and John Woodcock also supported the motion, an exceptional gesture considering they will almost certainly lose their seats in an election.  Many others are clearly desperate to hold on to their gravy train seats for as long as possible.  It was no great surprise to see Anna Soubry and her shrinking number of colleagues in Change UK (or whatever they're now called) opposing the motion.

38 Labour parasites ignored the party whips and voted against the motion.  They were all Remainers, with the sole exception of chief barnacle Skinner:

Interesting to note that this sickening list includes several MPs who are standing down at the next election, but who are clearly not in any hurry to depart the Westminster gravy train.  Also worthy of note is that all but one of Scottish Labour's MPs appears on the list, clearly fearing a wipeout at the hands of the SNP come the next election!

WOODCOCK SLAMS 'GASLIGHTING RACIST'

Ex-Labour MP John Woodcock has laid out his typically forthright views on Corbyn's proposed Parliamentary coup.  He's no fan of Corbyn, as you can see...

Woodcock became an independent after he quit Labour, but for the past four weeks has been affiliated with the group of MPs that left Change UK.  This group, known as 'the Independents' is made up of Heidi Allen, Luciana Berger, Gavin Shuker and Angela Smith - all hardcore Remainers, naturally.  Despite this, it does appear likely that Woodcock would put his hatred of Corbyn above his hatred of Brexit and most likely abstain in the no confidence vote.  It is not beyond the realm of possibility that Luciana Berger could also abstain, such is the level of shit Corbyn's followers put her through.  These abstentions could be crucial if Boris is to survive the vote.

GOVE HAMMERS CORBYN

Michael Gove gave the closing speech ahead of the no confidence vote on Wednesday and it was an instant classic.  Taking aim at the SNP, Lib Dems and, of course, Labour, he exposed the treacherous actions and grand hypocrisy of the Parliamentary Remain lobby.  He also picked out MPs for praise (singling out Corbyn enemy John Woodcock), deftly exposing the gaping chasm between Corbyn and his deputy leader Tom Watson as they sat opposite, looking awkward as ever.  Billy Bunter was not amused.  John Woodcock, despite being elected as a Labour MP, abstained from the vote and tweeted this shortly afterwards...
