BOATWATCH #29

It looked set to be a perfect week in the Channel for Starmer, just in time for the Labour conference.  Six days passed without a pick up and then bang... a dozen boats were collected on Saturday and another 895 colonists were deposited in Kent.  It's clear that the absurd one in, one out policy is in tatters and with only a handful of illegals deported (in exchange for other migrants from France) it is not going to deter anyone making the crossing.

A digital ID is not going to deter anyone, either, as migrants who have entered this country illegally aren't interested in paying tax and national insurance.  Unscrupulous employers who pay cash in hand are not going to suddenly start asking for an ID card.  Starmer knows this, which is why he plans to abolish cash and replace it with digital currency (Central Bank Digital Currency) at a later date.  That is the moment when the social credit dystopia of Tony Blair's wet dreams all clicks into place.

However, it will take at least half of his remaining term just to get digital IDs through both Houses of Parliament, let alone roll them out to the entire nation and all the ensuing problems that will entail.  In short, if Reform are still around to dislodge Starmer and Labour in 2029, he doesn't have the time to enact Blair's plan in full.

Total = 895 (a decrease of 262 from previous week)
