A trio of seats are up for grabs on Thursday, including a Labour defence in what would normally be considered solid Labour territory in Sunderland. Labour could just about cling on here, but the most likely scenario is an independent gain. Reform were a distant third here in last year's council election, but the second placed independent is standing again and a swing from Labour to Reform could be enough to hand him victory.
