Channel 4's annual 'alternative Christmas message' dates back to 1993, and has featured a wide variety of figures who generally push progressive woke agendas aimed as a veiled insult to both the British monarchy and Christianity. The fixture is aimed at the same brand of middle class university-indoctrinated lefties that run Channel 4. While not all of the messengers have been controversial figures, the choice of a veiled Muslim woman and the then president of the Islamic Republic of Iran in the 2000s was clearly intended to be provocative.
This year's guest messenger was sanctimonious US talk show host Jimmy Kimmel. His skit was primarily designed to subvert the problem of cancel culture, the phenomenon that derives from intolerant lefties aiming to silence celebrities who go off-script from the left-wing bubble.
In his three minute address, Kimmel presented himself as a victim of cancel culture, directly blaming President Trump for briefly being taken off the air in September. Of course, Kimmel neglected to mention the reason for his cancellation, namely a false accusation about the alleged shooter in Charlie Kirk's assassination. Kimmel suggested that Charlie's alleged assassin was a member of the 'MAGA gang', despite overwhelming evidence to the contrary. He never apologised for that remark, instead making it all about himself.
His Channel 4 message again made reference to his self-perceived victimhood, with not a single reference to the actual victims - Charlie Kirk and his family. He did make references to fascism and tyranny, in a direct attack on President Trump, but not before he provided a crucial disclaimer in his second sentence. Referring to the UK, he declared: "I honestly have no idea what’s going on over there."
Whether that is true or not, his warning about the rise of 'fascism' was delivered to a nation whose government is planning to roll out a digital ID - the first step towards a totalitarian social credit system - in addition to expanding the use of facial recognition cameras, cancelling and postponing elections, imprisoning people for social media posts, banning protests and restricting the right to protest, forcing farmers off their land, legalising the murder of fully grown babies in the womb and terminally ill adults and seizing the private data of all British citizens.
This is what fascism actually looks like, Mr Kimmel. Your message may have found a resonance with a Trump-hating middle class Channel 4 audience, but the truth is that these people have been throwing that word 'fascist' around for years without any comprehension of what it actually is.

Obviously, all the woke progressive agendas presented by Channel 4's Christmas messengers over the years have become less controversial and are gradually converging with the woke progressive agenda of King Charles III. In truth, Channel 4's 'alternative Christmas message' is quickly fading into irrelevance as the promotion of debauchery, tyranny and national suicide becomes the accepted norm of our Davos-captured monarch.
Channel 4 and Jimmy Kimmel have shown that this exercise is no longer an anti-establishment stunt, because their woke ilk have now become the establishment.
