Despite President Trump's absolute rinsing of our PM, cartoonists largely sidestepped the issue. That's perfectly understandable for left-leaning artists, for whom Trump remains the world's worst. A couple of toons made light of Trump's attack on wind turbines, but gave Starmer a fairly easy ride for once.
Cartoonists were even more shy when it came to the migrant hotel protests that are sweeping the country. The Sun's Steve Bright took a swipe at Yvette Cooper, but this was about as close as newspaper cartoonists got to addressing the burning issue.
The main focus of legacy media cartoonists in the past week was Starmer's pledge to recognise the state of Palestine - and what a state it's in after almost two years of Israeli bombardment and occupation. Of course the real reason for Starmer's decision is to fend off the looming threat of Corbyn's Fruit and Nut party, in the hope that Muslim voters will instantaneously forgive all his past fence sitting on the conflict...
