There were some major holidays over at The Times this past week, with the excellent Peter Brookes and Morten Morland both away. Peter Schrank and Seamus Jennings filled in and while their artistic skills are some way off in comparison, they produced some thought provoking work (especially Schrank). Topics for this week's toons included immigration, the likelihood of more tax rises and the ongoing clampdown on dissent.
Left-wing outlets expressed concern for the arrest of hundreds of protesters holding placards in support of the banned group Palestine Action. While many on the right don't see any issue with that (in fact some appear to support it), they should consider the possibility of who or what may be banned next. What may be a left-wing group banned today, may be migrant hotel protests tomorrow.
Look out for a subtle reference to Rushanara Ali's resignation from Dave Brown, combined with a pop at the trustworthiness of politicians...
