I have spoken with him this morning and he is understandably down, but glad to be alive. He will remain in hospital for up to two weeks, after which it will take up to three months for his internal organs (what's left of them) to heal. I will travel to the Midlands to see him over the coming weekend.
These unfortunate circumstances will immediately affect BTLP content across every platform, with the exception of X, which is largely my domain. I will do what I can to keep content ticking over. I have access to thousands of memes that Karl has produced over the years, including some generic unpublished memes that were intended for rainy days such as this. I can also produce some very basic memes myself. I can still film my occasional video monologues, but with no editing capablities they will be stripped to basics. As the main author on this site, I expect that most of the regualar features will be unaffected. Toon Tuesday was cancelled this week, but I hope to get it back on next week. The return of Woke Wednesdays continues to be pushed back, but we hope that it will return one day, if only as a fortnightly feature.
In normal circumstances it is not possible to realise our ambitions, as we are severely restricted by work commitments and a lack of funding. We are not monetised by either YouTube or X, and Meta only pays us for the main Facebook page (monetisation was removed for the backup page two years ago). We have both invested money over the years and Karl was in the process of procuring me a sound-proof microphone for my outdoor monologues. We don't like asking for money - no-one does - but it seriously helps and costs as little as £4. You can do so here or via PayPal here.
The most important thing right now is for Karl to rest and recover.
Richey
