Diane Abbott has stuck the knife into her party leader by saying he should 'consider his position' if he is fined over Beergate. Speaking to LBC's Matt Frei on Saturday she said she didn't think Starmer would be fined and the scandal had been 'hyped' by the 'Tory press'.

As Keir Starmer drifts onto the rocks, the far left sense revenge and possibly another punt at the leadership. Who would be their candidate in such an eventuality? Not Corbyn that's for sure, he still has the whip suspended. Bungling Burgon? Long-Bailey again? Ditzy Diane herself? Or some fresh young blood like Whittome or Sultana - now that would be funny!
