Sadiq Khan was naturally over the moon with the presumptive victory of Joe Biden, so much so that he tweeted and retweeted his gloating interview with anti-Trump US network CNN no less than eleven times...
It just goes to show that Trump wasn't the only narcissist in their epic slanging match.
Khan had been highly critical of Trump as far back as 2015, before either of them were elected to high office. Trump did not engage with Khan at first, but the following year the pair began their spat in earnest with the then presidential candidate challenging Khan to an IQ test. A year later Khan campaigned to have the newly elected President Trump barred from the UK. Then came the infamous 'blimp' that Khan permitted to fly over an anti-Trump protest in 2018, albeit the monstrosity floated barely ten feet off the ground. 'Baby Trump' later met an unfortunate end after it was stabbed and punctured by a Trump supporter in 2019.
President Trump's famous 'stone cold loser' jibe against Khan featured heavily in the CNN interview, but if the last four years have taught us anything it's that gloating can come back and bite you on the arse. Trump can run again in 2024...
